Join forces - Starting with you, each player may pay any amount of mana. Each player draws X cards, where X is the total amount of mana paid this way.

The moment I saw this, the first thing that came to my mind was Spiral Tide decks. Sure it can be MMissteped but if you have tons of mana, both players get to draw shitloads of cards. It can even be used by blue based combo such as Hive Mind.dec (not that they'll be sweeping the Top8s ala Vengevival.decs).

Can this be abused or being an all-in sorcery makes the card a not-so-good in legacy quality?

But Prosperity had only one player paying the mana cost. Spiral Tide will almost always have more mana then the other deck so it could/should draw more cards. The problem is how much does Spiral Tide want to invest mid combo, and does it want to give the other deck a chance to draw an out?
Spiral Tide does run BSZ but that's mostly for the kill and sometimes is used to draw cards without letting the opponent draw any.

Spiral Tide can pay 20 mana if it wishes. The opponent will draw 20 cards for free, just like with Prosperity.

I think an important note about this card is that if it's countered, it only cost :u:. The X is only paid on resolution.

Too bad it's not an instant. I would love to cast Mind's Aglow against a High Tide player as they are going critical and give them the "puppy dog eyes".



Anyway, Prosperity sucks, Skyscribing sucks, this sucks. No one is going to help you draw cards, but they will gladly sit back and let you pay mana to have them draw some. Ok, ok, they might help you if they need a combo piece.
