This is a deck, that came out of my Deadguy...which went brutal into white, then i thought about blue... lets see what came out

4 Swords to Plowshares

4 Dark Confidant
2 Smother

4 Standstill
3 Mental Misstep


And thats it, an BWu Control-Aggro List, with Standstill and Stoneforge in the middle of it.

Any suggestions?

I just did a double-take until I realized that there are 1491 Phillipps between the last two posters.

I would consider Hymn for this deck to provide some more disruption. Vendilion Clique wouldn't be bad either. Finally, Mother of Runes is prime for this type of deck, and gives you a 1drop to use with Vial.

Why Smother over Swords to Plowshares? Being susceptible to Mental Misstep is not a good enough reason to run 2nd rate removal.

This Philipp riddle is much more interesting than the deck. I know one of the Philipps from the GW Survival thread as a competent poster and thought he just multiaccounts for some reason. But now I am curious what it is.

For your deck: Standstill (the only blue card) looks very unreliable. If you do not have a Vial in play there is no need for the opponent to break it.

yes it is just random... and no we are not one philipp, we are 2 different ofc....

I wouldnt want to cut Standstill - what would you add (in blue) to make it more relieable - standstill - in order to cast it even without vial on board?

I don't know about standstill itself but if you're playing blue anyways...there is sorta the classic blue package of 4x force/brainstorm/mentalmistep...with brainstorm being the big standout out to me. As it both fixes your draws for the sake of Darkconfidant and cause I find with vial decks you don't want to be drawing a hand of vials and nothing to play of of them.

Vendillion clique with equipment is also quite good but serra avenger has that role covered.

Hymn is also an all-star

I've never been a huge fan of vindicates and scullers have often underperformed for me.

On a moar serius note: Why Smother? Isn't Vindicate or PtE better. And cut the Standstills for anything more reasonable... Brainstorm is good for free mulligans and it can help the Dark Comediant sometimes.

Ok, what I wanted was a Control Standstill SFM deck, with the core: SFM, Batterskull, Standstill, but I dont want ti to get a FOW Jace TMS deck.... How would you guys build this? If you dont like my list
