Hello Seattle Players!

I just recently got a new job in Seattle and will be moving somewhere in the Ballard/Fremont/U-District neighborhoods mid-July. What kind of brick-and-mortars are out there that offer good Legacy staples, tournaments, and community? Outside of Legacy, I play a lot of limited and not much else. So if there is a place that drafts regularly, I'll probably be there through most of the winter months.

I have a pretty decent cardpool that suits my needs (blue-based, mostly), but I have enough cards to contribute to a team or playtest group that is looking for members. It's been a long time since I've played competitively as there is zero Legacy where I currently live and my old work-schedule always conflicted with that of tournament organizers. But, I am looking to getting some more Magic in my life after moving settles down.

Looking forward to meeting and seeing some more Magic players!
-Mitch

Hi Mitch,

There is First Pick Games in the U District and they play mostly Legacy and limited. And there is also Card Kingdom up in Ballard. I play mostly up at Card Kingdom. Hope to see you there sometime!

Seconded for First Pick Games.

I've also heard good things about Card Kingdom, which recently opened up, but I play almost primarily at First Pick (in the U-District).

There's a lot of Legacy out here. Stores in the city offer weekly Legacy events on three or four nights out of the week, and if you drive an hour or less either north or south, you can find shops that do Legacy events on the other nights of the week. So, pretty friendly to whatever your schedule is. There also are large monthly or bimonthly tournaments (usually for duals, Jaces or Wastelands, sometimes for a Mox or Lotus). With Limited, I believe you have even more options. First Pick Games has many of the area's top limited players, so definitely check that out. You can comb through the options here:

First Pick is the one I hear the most about (always good things, has a good competitive crowd as well from my understanding).

Here's a link to other options as well in case you want to play every day of the week:

Try Mirkwood in Arlington. I know it's a bit out of the way, but they have a great Legacy scene.

Sorry for necroing the thread, but I just moved to Seattle (right by UW) and I'm looking for a place to play some legacy. Honestly, I'm looking for a place to play any magic, but a solid legacy base would be nice. Anyways, First Pick Games appears to have closed. Are there any other good places in the area?

IMO, Card Kingdom is by far the best place to play Legacy on a regular basis in this area. There are small, weekly Sunday events at Green Lake Games which recently started, as well as Legacy every other Thursday at Dtwenty Games in Normandy Park. Unfortunately, Dtwenty Games is a little bit out of the way if you're in the U-District.

You can try www.northwestmagic.com for more information.
