I'm curious if anyone has any experience using Glittering Wish in legacy. It is aggressively costed at only GW and can potentially nab a ton of relivant spells/dudes. Has anyone tried this in a G/W/x setup? The decent targets I can think of right now are these:
Vexing Shusher
Lightning Helix
Guttural Response
Gaddock Teeg
Qasali Pridemage
Burning-Tree Shaman
Pernicious Deed
Maelstrom Pulse
Knight of the Reliquary
Naya Charm
Trygon Predator
Kitchen Finks
Bant Charm
Crime//Punishment
Firespout
Figure of Destiny
Meddling Mage
Dauntless Escort
Boggart Ram-Gang
Bloodbraid Elf
Woolly Thoctar
Rhox War Monk
Voidslime
Behemoth Sledge
Armadillo Cloak
Shield of the Oversoul
Knotvine Mystic
Loxodon Hierarch
While some of these aren't neccessasrily playable in legacy, the doors this card could potentially open are big. It has similarities to Green Sun's Zenith. GSZ is more time-efficient, whereas Glittering Wish has the potential to be a lot more flexible.
Anyone tried this?

I tried in early GW/x middle range aggro with mana disruption plan - but it wasn't great - slow as Living Wish with lesser toolbox (couldn't fetch mono colored creatures like Kataki/Mangara and also couldn't fetch lands). I think its potential cards but still too few things to fetch or just not have good deck which could use it.
Also sorcery speed isn't great here - which reduce value of this card in control.
There was a time when both Glittering Wish and Living Wish were both used in (separate) BGW control Rock-esque decks. Glittering Wish might be too narrow for just about any combo deck, so it is going to probably be only good for control.

I was actually thinking of using it in an AGGRO list...to make the combo/control matchup better game 1.
You can fetch cards that would normally only come into play game 2...like Shusher and Guttural Response in zoo, and Teeg, Pridemage, or Trygon Predator in Bant.
I've always thought that Naya Charm was borderline playable in Legacy, and this gives me a chance to actually test it out without a lot of risk.

I only use it in a casual slivers deck but a light just came on in my head...
With Painter's Servant, could this card grab just about anything (obviously not artifacts or lands). Just wanted to ask the question.

When I used to fiddle with The Rock, I made a Glittering Wish variant to get a board down and cast Sarkhan Vol as an overrun card.
Yeah, I didn't notice any planeswalkers in your list, OP. THey're probably the most powerful targets for Glittering Wish. All the multicolor planeswalkers (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?color=+^([W]|[U]|[B]|[R]|[G])&type=+[Planeswalker])
If you are really interested in finding suitable Glittering Wish targets, look at all the Legends from the Commander set. They're all gold. I'm sure at least one them could serve a niche role in a Glittering Wish sb.

If they have another color, sure.

Pretty old but was decent back in the day. Needs some updating.

So Servant naming blue makes possible an interesting GWr deck with:
Eyes of the Wisent
Mold Adder or Quirion Dryad
Seedtime
Autumn's Veil
Red/Pyro Blasts
Too many ifs though. You don't want to lean too hard on finding that Painter's Servant. It's just that 74% of legacy is blue so it seems like the power level of these green cards would be rather high.

Not to rain on your parade, but Glittering Wish for Naya Charm is the Slooooooow Trip. Wish's need to get 1 for 60s. You ever burning wish for Devastating Dreams against zoo in a tournament? My buddy pulled this shit day one in GP providence over and over. (As an aside, Devastating Dreams is so aptly named. Especially at a GP. "Oh, sorry did you drive 8 hours to get here, yeah anyway discarding 4...") The list of cards you named are all ok (or savage), but adding :G:/:W: to their cost makes them some strait up Legends' golds. It would have to be instant for it to have any value alongside many of the cards you pointed out. Telegraphing your Ram-gang, Response, Charm, Voidslime (?!?) etc just kills all their value. If modern shakes out into a format however, well that's another story.

Cramp hit it on the head. The main problem with utilizing Glittering Wish is the restriction that whatever you find be difficult to cast. If it's not difficult to cast, you're restricted to G/W cards, which are occasionally good but seldom complete blowouts.
Control decks used Cunning Wish because it was an instant and they can get hella value. Burning Wish is absurd because there is a large number of absurd sorceries. Living Wish is good because it can get hate bears and such regardless of color restrictions, you just have to be playing at least green.
I really wish you could use this effectively, but until Wizards prints some more hybrid mana cards that are very, very cheap (Guttural Response is the one I think of most) you probably won't be able to. Especially now that every deck that COULD have cared about Glittering Wish can run Green Sun's Zenith instead, since creature toolboxes are pretty savage these days.

It's worth mentioning dueling grounds which used to be in every junk sideboard.

Absolutely not. Only cards in play zones are affected, not the sideboard or any card outside the game (like cards in your binder or your neighbours table). "All cards that aren't on the battlefield" refers to cards in the exile zone, the GY, hand and library.

I tend to agree, Painter's Servant
All cards that aren't on the battlefield, spells, and permanents are the chosen color in addition to their other colors.
This ability affects every card in every game zone, all tokens on the battlefield, and all spell copies on the stack, regardless of who controls or owns them
Considering cards outside the game aren't in a game zone as they are... outside the game.. I don't see how Painter can affect them.

I played it in my explorer rock where it performed outstanding good. Solid choice;)

It can't get a decent storm combo engine so I'm leaning towards glittering wish being jank. It's too slow; and what it can get is limited like the best card it can get is Edric, Spymaster of Trest. Compared to living wish it just doesn't seem that good while living wish is decent it's by no means great.

I'm not sure if that was the case before M10, but since then, RFG cards are definitely affected since they are in the "exile zone", which is a game zone all right.

Thanks for the discussion folks...appreciate the feedback. Always good to hear from experienced and good players.
So...is there ANY potential for the card at all? I mentioned a fairly limited list (both in power level and scope.) Is there any multi-colored spell worth grabbing out of a sideboard? One that can either win on the spot or essentially seal the win? Is there enough m-colored sideboard hate to make it viable, even as a 1-2 of in a control-ish deck?
Just looking to hit all angles before the thread gets buried...

Regardless of whether you can see potential in the card today, it falls into the category of "better than most" other magic cards. I have a general rule that if a card seems to have potential or perform a unique function, I put it aside. If a cards is really good, it goes into a deck or a partial deck. If the card is complete garbage and will never be played, I burn it or give it away. I think a good 75-80% of all Magic cards are not on a competitive level and should just be burned.

Time to bust out the Scuttlemutt + Coalition Victory deck?
