Hello everyone:
My name is Bill Quirk, and I help run the Magic events at The Gamer's Gambit in Northern New Jersey. A lot of people may not know the store as it is today, but may remember it back when it was GameMasters and Clubhouse Games. The location has basically held a gaming store since the early 1990s on Broadway in Fair Lawn.
Well, times are changing. The owner of the store, Scott Roberts, was able to negotiate a new space in the next town over, Saddle Brook. The new store will be about one and a half times the old stores size, and capacity for gaming will now run up into the low 100s in terms of table space.
I myself have gotten into Legacy and I truly enjoy it. One of the best experiences I have had since getting back into Magic was playing at GP: Providence in May. I am hoping to get people to the new location of the Gambit to start a Legacy playgroup. Scott has insisted to me that the store is going to push Legacy in the next 12 months. In the past twelve months, we have moved our small Commander playgroup on Wednesday nights from six people to now twenty. It is our hope that we can get something similar in terms of Legacy. Scott and I will be working on coordinating a largish Legacy tournament in the Fall to hopefully draw some people from New York State, Long Island, Southern New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the store. We are very excited at the new possibilities opening up for the store. We encourage people to stop by and take a look.
This weekend is the Grand Opening of the new store. We will be holding an M12 PreRelease at midnight on Friday night into Saturday. $25 Entry, Free Pizza, Packs Dependent on Record, you all know the story. Usually we have had between 35 and 40 people for a Pre-Release so we encourage you to come down - we will have the space.
