I know what you mean. Is there a way to get around the badge? I have no clue if its possible to do it without it, this would be my first attempt at Gen Con.

To do anything but walk around, you'll need a badge.
You wont even be able to GO to where there is Magic stuff or vendors or anything without a badge.

Going to be my frist time. Im super pumped.

I'll be there. For four days the badge price isn't terrible. There is a lot of work put into planning, running, setup/teardown. It's four days of straight tournament magic(and anything else I decide to get involved in) in multiple formats.; I can play EDH, Vintage, Legacy, and Standard. For me it is totally worth the ~$70 for four days.

I'll definitely try. I'll definitely want a break from work but it does happen to be the weekend after SCG Pitt, and I only plan on going to the Legacy Champs anyways. Maybe. I can drive to Akron whenever to see you guys :wink:
