Here's a fun deck that might show some promise. It's pretty good in a Blade metagame :P
Torpornought
19 LANDS
2 Scalding Tarn
4 Polluted Delta
1 Island
1 Swamp
4 Underground Sea
2 Volcanic Island
1 Badlands
4 Wasteland
14 CREATURE
3 Grim Lavamancer
4 Phyrexian Dreadnought
3 Hunted Horror
4 Dark Confidant
16 DISRUPTION
4 Mental Misstep
4 Daze
4 Force of Will
4 Stifle
11 OTHER
4 Brainstorm
3 Torpor Orb
4 Lightning Bolt
15 SIDEBOARD
2 Perish
3 Extirpate
2 Divert
3 Spell Pierce
2 Engineered Explosives
3 Red Elemental Blast
The deck's a brewed idea that has no playtesting done. The goal is to play a normal Tempo role, sometimes randomly resolving Stiflenought with a hand of Daze/FoW/MM that wins you games.
Bob is actually really strong in this list if he resolves (Bob wins games if he sticks but in this list, you can actually draw a lot into the combination of Dreadnought/Hunted Horror/Stifle/Torpor Orb.
The red splash is mainly for Lavamancer/REB/Bolt, with Lavamancer/Bolt being critically important in today's Stoneblade meta. Lavamancer also gives the deck some chance against Merfolk while you attempt to assemble huge beaters to race them.
Use your Stifles as you should in a tempo gameplan, since you have 3 Torpor Orbs and Bobs that will support Dreadnoughts/Hunted Horror. You should really only focus on answering spells that truly affect you since MM'ing that opposing Brainstorm could backfire on you when you could have saved that MM on your opponent's StP or MM on your Dreadnought. However, if they run into situations where they are landscrewed and your MM on their brainstorm will hurt them, do so, but MM in this deck is primarily focused on protecting and resolving your big dudes (or lavamancers against Merfolks etc)
SB:
2-3 Perish against green decks
2-3 REB against blue decks/control/Merolkfs
3 Extirpate against decks like Show&Tell/Painter/Intuition/Dredge/4Jace-win-condition.decs
0-2 Divert against black-based decks or decks with lots of removal and running creatures (divert their removal on their own dude)
2-3 EE against random jank decks with the added benefit that it can be supplemented with your own Hunted Horror.
Let's see where this fun deck heads. It's probably tier 2 at best, but this is an idea for a Torpornought list that isn't truly terrible lol.
