Okay, I know there's already a "who's going to GenCon" thread but this is a little different.
1: Anyone interested in playtesting Legacy? If so hit me up by PM with your name and # and I'll text you when I get there Wednesday and get settled in and maybe we can meet in some hotel breakfast area that afternoon/night and get in some group testing. I'm coming with 8 or so people but none of them are up to my level of familiarity with the format.
2: What are your major plans at GenCon? IE what events are you definitely planning to play in MTG or otherwise. Any cards you are specifically looking to pick up in trades? I have a friend who is going to go balls out to trade up to a piece of power for example.
3: What are you playing in non-Legacy events? I know everyone who's playing the Champs is probably holding their cards close to the vest but in other lesser formats what is your gameplan?
4: Does anyone think there will be any Pauper events at GenCon? I've never been but I heard there's a little bit of everything. I found a midnight peasant tourney I might play in, already built my deck and everything but I didn't see anything about Pauper. What are the odds there will be events that actually fire that just aren't listed. I could put my pauper deck together but I'd rather not waste the time if it's just going to sit in my bag all weekend wasting space.

As far as myself
2: I'm going to try to grind into Midwest Masters on Thursday and Friday. Friday night I may stay up for a Midnight peasant event but IDK depends on how I feel. Saturday I'm playing Legacy Champs obviously. Sunday if I grind in I'll play MMS otherwise just dick around and trade.
3: In Standard I'm playing MonoRed aggro. It's about 3 cards off from the list I've been running since the set came out. No Koth, instead Phoenix, Ember Hauler, Edges over Peaks most of the other stuff is pretty standard. Feels like a solid deck, and since I'm going to be playing a lot lot lot of MTG this weekend I feel a lot better going in with at least one deck where I'm not going to have to over think everything to death and luckily it's the deck I'm probably going to be breaking out the most. Worried about the hate against me being insanely good but then again sometimes with mono-Red you just win.
In peasant, if I even end up playing it's definitely going to be Elf-Clamp. Deck is just so good against pretty much everything but mono-Black Pestilence control and maybe Tendrils but I still have outs. New set gives me the super tech of Hornet Sting in the SB the take out opposing Prodigals and equally annoying guys that can be a real pain otherwise.
In Legacy I'm playing a total rogue deck. It's probably a really bad meta call but I feel like there are no completely 100% un-winnable MU's if I get a strong start and I feel like if the meta shifts for this event how it probably should I will be in a good spot. I might audible at the last minute to a completely different deck though.
