This is just something I've been toying with lately. I don't actually own a lot of the cards I would need to build it, but it's been testing pretty well so I thought I'd throw it out there.

3 Grim Lavamancer
4 Fire // Ice
4 Stifle
4 Force of Will
4 Brainstorm
4 Daze
4 Mental Misstep
4 Lightning Bolt
3 Blood Moon
4 Magus of the Moon
2 Jace, the Mind Sculptor
4 Volcanic Island
2 Arid Mesa
4 Scalding Tarn
2 Misty Rainforest
3 Island
1 Mountain
4 Wasteland

Basically the idea is a lot like Canadian Thresh, but dropping green for more burn and mana denial. The whole idea is to basically counter/stifle/burn/waste anything that comes down in the first two turns, and follow up with a moon effect. Then you win via Magus beats and Lavamancer shocks, or potentially via Jace.

I don't really play blue much, so I'm open to all kinds of suggestions on the counter suite/mana base.

This deck is a good start. I would suggest cutting the Fire / Ice and Clique from there to fit your Moons.

I like the idea a lot, but it seems like this deck would have trouble dealing with a resolved tarmogoyf or Knight. Burn can only do so much here. One of the reasons canadian thresh was really good is because it could play its own goyfs, and win goyf wars through fire/ice and bolt.

I agree, which is basically why I said the idea is to counter everything that drops early. I mean, you can burn out an early Goyf/etc. with a combination of burn sometimes, but that's hardly ideal. Jace bounces also help. I think Submerge from the board would help a lot with that situation though, since pretty much every early creature that can't be burned out is going to be green.
