I had this come up in a game, and just wanted to clarify.

My opponent casts Reanimate, returning a Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur. I have Swords to Plowshares in my hand. I get priority before the mainphase ends and goes to his end step, correct?

Yes you do. A step does not end until both players pass priority back-to-back. You may swords Jin and prevent him from drawing 7 cards.

That's what I thought, but he didn't think so. Thanks for the response.

Just to clarify a bit further, I will post the rule. In my initial response, I neglected to mention that the stack must also be empty in addition to all players passing priority.

500.2. A phase or step in which players receive priority ends when the stack is empty and all players
pass in succession. Simply having the stack become empty doesn’t cause such a phase or step to
end; all players have to pass in succession with the stack empty. Because of this, each player gets a
chance to add new things to the stack before that phase or step ends.
