I wanted to start this poll since I'm curious: if you had to stick with two formats to play, one of which was Legacy, would you rather play Vintage or Modern?

Standard.

I would play Modern, but draft would be a better option if I were on MODO, given how bad people around me are at drafting and building limited decks, I believe I could go infinite if I cared about owning imaginary cards.

Vintage, because it's the real men's format.

Actually legacy is my secondary format after Type 1. As of yet, I'm not really that interested in Modern.

I prefer Standard, but Modern is interesting so I chose it. I'll probably play Legacy more than it though.

Legacy is the best tournament format. Vintage is the best casual format*

I wish Pauper Legacy/Vintage was a sanctioned format. I play that the most not counting Legacy.

I would choose Modern over Vintage since I could never afford the latter. Shockland prices along with the ban list uncertainty don't really turn me on to Modern either, though.

EDH is my secondary format of choice, although Modern also looks interesting.

Pauper is it's own format you don't have to specify Vintage/Legacy, but yeah it's the shit.

IMO...

1) Legacy - More of this please
2) Pauper - Hey, I don't have to rebuy my entire collection online to play a fun format.
3) Standard - At least this T2, most seasons maybe not so much
4) Modern - If I have to...
5) Vintage - 25 proxy event for a Recall you say? I'll think about it...

+1
I play EDH also, but that's still secondary to both vintage and legacy. I didn't start building legacy decks seriously until after I was fully powered and had my type 1 deck the way I liked it.

Casual, since i mostly play with my brother outside of tournaments. The Duel Decks have been really fun so far. And Pauper. "Old School" (if you can call it that) U/B Pauper Teachings is the best deck ever. But it loses to Krosan Tusker/Rolling Thunder.dec, which is awesome as well :)

I haven't played since BSC and have been told that card made things miserable, but pre-MBS Vintage was actually just the best format (incl. Legacy) by miles except no one played.

I am not a fan of BSC in Type 1 either, but you get used to it and learn how to deal with it just like Legacy people need to learn how to deal with MM. In some ways BSC is necessary to deal with Shops decks now that they a have a lot more disruption from the last couple blocks. Regardless I am disappointing with WTC for printing BSC, but it doesn't make Type 1 unplayable by any means.

Assuming card availability wasn't a problem I would do Vintage, but if it was then Modern

Standard here. I typically build the $10 deck of the season and roll with that.

I'd love to play Vintage, but to do so I would need a ton of money; not just to buy myself in, but to pay the way for a local playerbase, because I know no-one who plays it. It's hard enough to find Legacy events. So, Modern would be my choice for reasons of practicality.

Limited

its the only other format I actually like. Unfortunately you get loads of crap cards from that...

After I had some Modern test games, I'd say Vintage. Aside from Legacy and EDH, it's the only format that still feels Magic-y.

That and I just love how every second game of Vintage has its "something absurd happens" moments.

Vintage comes before Legacy and Modern for me.
