Looking around I still see alot of nonbasic lands in legacy. Back to Basics has to be pretty strong right now. I took georgejorge's list from 2008 and tested it out on cockatrice. I was fairly impressed with the results. The deck probably needs a few tweaks, but overall I think the deck could really work in legacy right now:

17 Island
3 Chrome Mox
3 Wasteland
2 Trinisphere
4 Back to Basics
4 Stifle
2 Trickbind
4 Parallax Tide
3 The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
4 Propaganda
3 Morphling
4 Force of Will
4 Accumulated Knowledge
3 Fire // Ice
SB: 2 Trinisphere
SB: 3 Pithing Needle
SB: 4 Chalice of the Void
SB: 4 Hibernation
SB: 2 Blue Elemental Blast

A prison deck focusing around b2b and stifle/tide. Stifle obviously has other applications beyond Parallax Tide and stifling fetchlands. Stifling Jace's ultimate followed by a morphling next turn tends to be pretty back breaking. It's also pretty good against hivemind.

AK seems kind of weak, but only the first one. I felt like I needed some sort of card advantage to run force of will. Fact or fiction is too expensive and meditate just seems too risky.

I really like hibernation out of the board but I might not need four. It bounces progenitus, elven swarms and choke. At this point I'm still not totally sure if it's better than submerge.

I considered adding card 61 for wasteland number four. I still might do it.
-------

At first glance this deck may seem pretty weak and ungainly. A lot of this decks strength comes from it's shear ability to steal game one from unprepared opponents.

4 JTMS should fit a way in there somewhere, and mental misstep might be good too. Otherwise it looks like a pretty good find, kudos!

At the last Binghamton tournament I played something like:

20 Island
3 Wasteland
3 Tabernacle

3 Sphinx of Jwar Isle

4 Impulse
4 Force of Will
3 Force Spike
4 Stifle
4 Propaganda
2 Trickbind
4 Parallax Tide
4 Back to Basics
2 Trinisphere

2 Trinisphere
2 Blue Elemental Blast
3 Pithing Needle
4 Hibernation
4 Chalice of the Void

Overall I ended up doing poorly. I finished 3-4 on the day. It wasn't the deck's fault at all though. I played very poorly. I got very little sleep the night before because I was so excited about playing legacy. I'm only an alright player when I do get enough sleep. I think the deck could really do some damage right now. Many players walked right into Parallax Tide.

One sideboard card I was thinking about is Winter's Chill. It seems real good against Merfolk, but it might be a bit to slow.

I was watching someone on Cockatrice play this deck. I thought it was awesome.

Clavio, Jace is the best wincon blue has ever had. Why aren't you using it?

Morphling sux ass.

parallax tide + stifle seems pretty good. phyrexian dreadnought + stifle seems pretty good. snapcaster mage + stifle seems pretty good.

16 island
4 fetchlands
2-3 tabernacle

4 parallax tide
4 back to basics
4 propoganda

4 phyrexian dreadnought
2 snapcaster mage

4 stifle
2-3 trickbind
4 brainstorm
2-3 counterspell
4 force of will

2-3 jace, the mind sculptor

i think i'd test something like that, probably keeping chalice + trinisphere in the board. i'd really consider boarding pithing needles too, because every blue deck post-mental misstep needs a way to deal with aether vials.

Funny idea, i might be inclined to test out something like this:)
@sillyandrews list:
I think you can justify a few wastelands in there as well, otherwise a pretty tight list :D

Not on the day he posted it. Thanks for the constructive content captain. ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff.

:-( Well, I don't know, I figured he would just get mauled by the army of guys being held back by propaganda. Sphinx can deal with an opponents Jace. I did just get some super awesome d6's so maybe I should play some planeswalkers.

Snapcaster mage looks really solid.

snapcaster mage and stifle are completly stunning together. I play them in a stiflenaught U/R and it does wonder in combination with wasteland.

I haven't tried a version with parallax tide but i can imagine it being gamebreaker.
