Looking around I still see alot of nonbasic lands in legacy. Back to Basics has to be pretty strong right now. I took georgejorge's list from 2008 and tested it out on cockatrice. I was fairly impressed with the results. The deck probably needs a few tweaks, but overall I think the deck could really work in legacy right now:
17 Island
3 Chrome Mox
3 Wasteland
2 Trinisphere
4 Back to Basics
4 Stifle
2 Trickbind
4 Parallax Tide
3 The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
4 Propaganda
3 Morphling
4 Force of Will
4 Accumulated Knowledge
3 Fire // Ice
SB: 2 Trinisphere
SB: 3 Pithing Needle
SB: 4 Chalice of the Void
SB: 4 Hibernation
SB: 2 Blue Elemental Blast
A prison deck focusing around b2b and stifle/tide. Stifle obviously has other applications beyond Parallax Tide and stifling fetchlands. Stifling Jace's ultimate followed by a morphling next turn tends to be pretty back breaking. It's also pretty good against hivemind.
AK seems kind of weak, but only the first one. I felt like I needed some sort of card advantage to run force of will. Fact or fiction is too expensive and meditate just seems too risky.
I really like hibernation out of the board but I might not need four. It bounces progenitus, elven swarms and choke. At this point I'm still not totally sure if it's better than submerge.
I considered adding card 61 for wasteland number four. I still might do it.

At first glance this deck may seem pretty weak and ungainly. A lot of this decks strength comes from it's shear ability to steal game one from unprepared opponents.
