Recycle/Null Profusion vs Cad Bloom/Spirit Guides

Does pitching cards for mana (as with Simian or Elvish Spirit Guide, Skirge Familiar or Cadaverous Bloom) count as "playing" cards for Recycle/Null Profusion to trigger?

I'm thinking so, but I wanted to make sure. Thanks.

The spirit guides have an mana ability. You are not playing them. Same for Skirge Familar and Bloom. You do not get a trigger unless you play a land or cast a card.

That is not to say the casted card/played land need to be in your hand, you can get the trigger other ways.
