The deck infinite torpor gets its name from the twp cards it tend to abuse. Torpor orb and sundial of the infinite.
I decided to start a new thread because this deck is not dreadstill and not stiflenaught. It is mainly based on Mike Farmer Illusionary orb (http://sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=39815) deck that took 10th place at the SCG open in Seattle.
I'm calling it a different name because i don't use illusionary mask and i replace it with sundial of the infinite, wich i think brings more tricks and isn't as narrow as illusionary mask is.
Short explanation of the cards and mechanics:
Torpor orb:
obvious choice for a dreadnought deck that don't play blue. It is also great against the creatures that the decks to beat are using (stoneforge mystic and vendillion clique to name a few)
sundial of the infinite:
A tricky card that wants to be abused. This one has interactions with so many things, we are just on the surface of what this card will do in a near future. In this deck it goes very well with phyrexian dreadnought, hunted horror and berserk. It also protects against counterspells or anything that opponent might want to put on the stack during your turn.
Decklist:
4x sundial of the infinite
4x torpor orb
4x dark confidant
4x phyrexian dreadnought
4x hunted horror
2x tombstalker
4x dark ritual
4x thoughtseize
4x hymn to tourach
3x berserk
3x maelstrom pulse
4x verdant catacombs
4x bayou
4x wasteland
1x woodland cemetary
4x swamp
3x plains
sideboard may look a little like this but, as any sideboard is, it's meta dependant.
3x krosan grip
1x maelstrom pulse
3x choke
3x perish
2x leyline of the void
3x pithing needle
- usually berserk gets the creature killed by the beginning of the next end step, but sundial gets throught this step and goes directly to the end/cleanup step, wich gets the creature alive. Even if you don't have a sundial in play, getting a dreadnought to 24/24 trample, if unawnsered is usually the end of the game.
I'm awaiting your comments on this deck. I think it can get very good with some tweaks and the thinking of this very community.
