Hello everyone, I'm someone you probably don't remember. I'd like to discuss an idea for a deck I had looking at the INN spoiler (and that was probably already used by someone). It's based on what should be (if I got that right) a 3-cards infinite loop for 2 mana. Without much further ado, those are the cards:
Heartless Summoning + 2x Myr Retriever
Since Heartless Summoning reduces without any limitation the mana cost of creature spells, you can cast Myr N°1 for free. Myr then dies due to Summoning's effect, but not before triggering its ability. Therefore, you can cast a second one for free, fetching the first one and so on.
This loop grants no mana/life without any other cards, yet allows you to accumulate an arbitrary large storm count FTW. The objective of this discussion is: Can we build a deck based on, or at least playing, this combo?
This "combo" ain't great, I know. It relies on the GY, can be disrupted easily due to its creature-depending nature and needs at least an additional card to win. Yet, I think it could be implemented in a combo shell or a control one.
A combo shell could implement a Intuition engine (fetch 3x Myr, play Summonings, loop) combined with other tutors (adding W can give us Enlightened Tutor and lots, lots of counterspells/discards. The colors should be UWB with a red splash and/or mana-producing artifacts (Lotus Petals should be enough if you need R for your kill spell and/or Burning Wish): white should be expecially important since it gives us a good tutor for both combo pieces and Orim's Chant to pull it off undisturbed. Due to the "infinite" nature of this combo a simple Grapeshot is lethal, requiring 4 mana only (2 if you played Summonings during another turn).
A control shell could also be UWB, with a heavy use of discard spells, counterspells and various W goodness to keep us alive until we can pull off the combo. Landstill comes to my mind, yet I don't think there would be much synergy between the deck type and this kind of combo. A monoB Pox shell could be nice too, using Myrs to re-use artifacts like Ratchet Bomb and use Bitter Ordeal to finish your opponent.
I hope I didn't annoy you and would like to know:
1) If the combo itself works;
2) What your opinions are.
Thank you all, and bye :D
