In Legacy, the graveyard must not be rearranged, due to cards like Nether Shadow.

This leads me to my question- Let's say I dredge a Golgari Thug(Dredge 4) to my hand, and the cards come up in this order: Creature, Nether Shadow, Creature, Creature.

Am I allowed to move the Nether Shadow to be bottom of the three creatures?

Why I ask? When you look at the reminder text/rules, it says to take the top X cards of the deck and put them in the graveyard. It does not say in which order, so is what I wanted to do correct or disallowed? If it is allowed, please also point out the relevant rules saying that, so I know where it says it, in case I need to resolve any disputes. Thanks.

It appears that you can put the cards into the graveyard in any order since no rule prohibits it. I also have casual confirmation from a discussion on another forum.

404.3. If an effect or rule puts two or more cards into the same graveyard at the same time, the owner of those cards may arrange them in any order.

On that note, what about a brain freeze that puts 18 cards into the graveyard? is it counted as one effect or 6 individual sets of 3?

since each storm copy and the original spell resolve one after another, you have the option to rearrange those three cards put into the yard for each Brain Freeze. You are NOT allowed to change the order of 18 cards.

The same is true when you play Dredge: If you cast Breakthrough and have 4 Golgari Grave Trolls in your graveyard, you may rearrange 4 x 6 cards, not 24 cards.
