Uh, did his deck's sideboard really contain 6 Spell Pierces? ;)

Uh, no, I believe that should be Trinisphere. Thanks, I've changed it.

Based on the deck he was playing, I found this quote especially hilarious:
"Ugh, dredge. To all the dredge players in the world: Start playing magic!"

Well to be honest, there is a lot more interaction in most matchups with this deck than with Dredge. Especially against control decks it plays out like a dance, should they tap low for a threat, should I go for it here, how much time do I have, what is he looking for etc. With dredge it's just, what did he dredge and the only interactive card in the deck is Therapy, and it gets real fun when you have brainstorm(s).

Im playing quite a similar list like you, just with a few differences which I wanna hear your opinion on:
4 Intuition? Is 4 necessary? Isnt 3 enough?
Daze and no Spell Pierce Mainboard? Does it matter? Do you want to set you back for a whole landdrop?
7 creatures?
Thanks and gratz on the finish, Sir.

It wasn't me, but my teammate Erwin Sneek. i am by no means an expert of the deck. I'll ask if he'll pop by to answer your questions.

I can answer as well, I got 15th (one place above Erwin) and we worked on the deck for quite a while. I think 4 Intuition is an auto-include. It can be quite slow and 1 gets boarded out a lot but it is decent that you can just find whatever part you want. Depending on game state and matchup you really want a specific enabler (usually Sneak Attack) and this lets you get the right card for the job. It is kind of slow but you should see this deck more as a semi-control deck that sometimes combo finishes your opponent out quite quickly. And that can race opposing fast strategies a lot better than other decks. It obviously is less powerful at keeping the game in control than real control decks but it has more game against aggressive strategies and the sideboard really morphs the deck into a better suited style for the matchup. One of the strengths of the deck is also that it dodges a lot of cards that are played a lot like Spell Snare, regular removal, most combo hate doesn't do anything or not much (Canonist, Mindbreak Trap, Teeg does something but not a lot). That's why I like Daze better maindeck, it's better against aggro and most control decks do not have a good game 1 against you, also Daze is better against Tempo decks than Pierce.

7 creatures is more than enough, 8 is better against aggro and other decks where you have to race but against control decks you need to stick an enabler, if they don't clock you very hard you will have a creature by the time you stick one.
