edit: I forgot to say the name of this deck ^^ I called it: Wizards Prison :)

Hello, i know there are a lot of versions of wizards decks but this one aim to (or try to) base the game only on wizards abilities. I'm posting my decklist here, hoping you all can help me improving this deck.
The general idea behind this list is versatility, provided only (or mainly at least) by wizards creatures.

Lands:
6 Island
4 Flooded Strand
2 Polluted Delta
4 Tropical Island
4 Tundra
Spells:
4 Brainstorm
4 Force of Will
4 AEther Vial
3 Paradise Mantle
4 Living Wish
2 Oblivion Ring
3 Stasis
Creatures:
3 Vedalken Mastermind
3 Patron Wizard
3 Meddling Mage
3 Puresight Merrow
4 Sage of Epityr

Sideboard:
1 Vedalken Mastermind
1 Qasali Pridemage
1 Trinket Mage
1 Aven Mindcensor
1 Magus of the Moon
1 Yixlid Jailer
1 Laboratory Maniac
1 Judge of Currents
1 Mirror Entity
1 Stonybrook Schoolmaster
1 Patron Wizard
1 Meddling Mage
1 Puresight Merrow
1 Mangara of Corondor
1 Peacekeeper

There are a lot of combos and sinergies, here the main:
puresight merrow + paradise mantle = tutor
puresight merrow + patron wizard = nice lock
vedalken mastermind + stasis = opponent in stasis
vedalken mastermind + oblivion ring = reusable removal

This deck use living wish to adapt to the different situations,as you can see. Notice that with the tutor combo we look for a living wish and we are going to win, this happens very frequently.
Virtually it plays with 7 copies of the main wizards, because of wishes. This helps a lot.
There are two other combos with cards in side: one with judge of currents (infinite life, if you need time) and one with laboratory maniac.
It's vulnerable to abilities (there is nothing against them) and red based aggro decks. It don't have problems (for what i have seen) against affinity, elves, burn, control decks.
I added stasis to defend against aggro (or infinite life against them),but this not always work because they are fast and we need 2 cards that not always come out.
One more thing: there is peacekeeper in the sideboard. I'm not happy with it (it's not a wizard!). The alternative would probably be magus of the moat but he is 4cc (other wizards are 2-3 cc), not exactly vial-friendly.

Waiting for feedback :)

Hi,

Your deck seems very nice to play :)

I will do : -1 trop -1 tundra, +2 fetch for brainstorm/sage of epityr and better mana selection ( choosing between trop or tundra better than having trop or tundra )

Maybe removing green ? ( a little bit slow )

I don't think it would change much but you can try it.

Before play this list, this deck was UW. It used vedalken aethermage instead of living wish and the mono-copy wizards were main decked (not 15 wizards, just up to 4).
I think vedalken is more expensive and allow less versatility than living wish.
If i don't play wishes, the list is less versatile: I should play 4 of each main wizards and, if I want a bit of versatility, some slots for wizards in single copy (laboratory maniac and judge of currents at least, i think). For a total of 6 cards (at least) from the actual main list (excluding wishes, replaced by vedalkens) to be cut-off.
I think with wishes there are more answers.

Do you think Sage of Epityr is better than Cursecatcher or Stormscape Apprentice? The filter effect is sort of cool, but w/o an option to shuffle or scry, it seems hard to get much power out of it.

Laboratory Maniac and Judge of Currents seem too weak as well. I think an Ethersworn Canonist and a Kitchen Finks would be stronger for the Living Wish toolbox.

Ah, I forgot,I think some daze should be awesome ( in end game combine with Patron wizzard it can take opponent by surprise ) to stop fast combo.

I played daze in this list before (with -2 oblivion ring,-2 polluted delta). I think it works better now. There are already meddlings and fow against combo.

Stormscape is not really needed,we already have stasis and oblivion ring to deal with creatures (and judge of currents if this is not enough). There is also the peacekeeper/magus of the moat.
There are shuffles with fetch lands and with vedalken we can bounce sages to look at top 4 cards again.

This is a wizard deck, so only wizards are allowed :D
Judge of currents is needed against aggro deck, while laboratory maniac is a nice win condition: he allows victory always. Without him decks like enchantress would be very hard to beat.

It's been a while since my last play... This week I'll play in two local tournaments, I'll post here the results as well the latest version of this deck

Karakas should be at least wish target. It also combos with Mangara. Would Cavern of souls be a good addition to the deck? I think stasis seems a bit slow and the o-ring combo is super clunky.

What about vendilion clique? she's a flyer and helps either pull a problem card from your opponents hand, or removes a dead card in your hand and replaces it. Plus she is a wizard and can be abused with riptide laboratory

I already tried Mangara before, I think it doesn't fit in the deck because of the double white mana. Offcourse, Karakas + Mangar costs less mana than Oblivion+Vedalken, but Vedalken can be used with sage of epityr, stasis, any creature that is going to die, any land that is going to be wasted. Stasis is usually a win against any non blue based deck, patron wizard ends the game with stasis in play.
Cavern of Souls is a very good card, I'm doing tests to understand if this deck needs it or not.

Good card. Haven't tried it yet in this deck. I've always wanted to play riptide lab, but this deck don't like colorless mana, and reserving 3 mana for doing the trick is not something this deck can afford.

I managed to get in Top 4 with the list shown below:

Lands:
8 Island
4 Flooded Strand
4 Tropical Island
4 Tundra
Spells:
4 Brainstorm
4 Force of Will
4 AEther Vial
3 Paradise Mantle
4 Living Wish
2 Oblivion Ring
2 Stasis
Creatures:
3 Vedalken Mastermind
3 Patron Wizard
4 Meddling Mage
3 Puresight Merrow
4 Sage of Epityr

Sideboard:
1 Patron Wizard
1 Puresight Merrow
1 Vedalken Mastermind
1 Judge of Currents
1 Laboratory Maniac
1 Magus of the Moon
3 Qasali Pridemage
3 Absolute Law
3 Relic of Progenitus

Here is a short report:
First Match:Maverick - lose 0-2
This is not an easy match to handle. Testing against maverick shown that we are around 50% win/lose. This time however didn't go well for wizards.

Second Match: Mono B Reanimator - win 2-1
This match is really easy for wizards, losing one game only for bad luck. First game won thanks to Laboratory Maniac, third with infinite life. Iona is not a big problem for this deck.

Third Match: Dredge win 2-0
Another easy match, infinite life in the first match and relic in the second.

Fourth Match: Nic Fit win 2-0
Very easy match. First game won by total control (Patron wizard + puresight merrow),second game won by infinite life followed by Maniac.

Semifinale Match: UW Miracle lose 1-2
I wasn't prepared for this match, never had a chance to play against it before. I won the first game easily with patron + puresight, the other 2 games were lost due to my lack of knowledge about this miracle deck. Next time I'll be prepared!

That's all.
