View Full Version : Any creature + Spellskite + Vision Charm

Opponent targets a Tarmogoyf with Swords to Plowshares.

I change the target of Swords to Plowshares to Spellskite, using the ability of Spellskite itself.

Now, the point: if I play Vision Charm on Spellskite making it phase out, do I "save" any creature or the Tarmogoyf will be the legal target back again?

Thank you

Eh? Cast StP on Tarmogoyf. Respond by placing Spellskite ability on stack, targeting StP, changing its target to Spellskite, let that ability resolve. Put Vision Charm on stack, targetting Spellskite with phase-out ability, let it resolve. Let StP resolve/fizzle due to illegal target upon resolution. Tarmogoyf stays, Spellskite phases in asap.

It doesn't work, Spellkite's ability will change the target of a spell only on resolution. Spellskite must remain in play when the ability resolves.

Bur it will be in play when its ability resolves. It won't be in play when the target of its ability resolves.

colo & caiomarcos are correct. Spellskite is still a legal target when it's ability resolves.

You will phase out the Spellskite after it's redirection ability resolves, but before the StP resolves.

This. The play works, you respond to the StP after Spellskite's ability has resolved.

@death - Spellskite's ability resolving and the Swords to Plowshares resolving are two different things.
