Considering how many peopel wanted them to reprint it in FTV: Legends, this actually makes sense now as to why they didn't reprint it then.

It'll be harder than hell to find them and they'll be expensive, but nice move never the less.

Considering the lack of affordable Imperial Recruiters in the market it would be a much better choice for a judge foil... Maybe next time.

More like, "Wizards reprints a $200 card? Yay, maybe now I can afford one."

I'm just surprised, is all. I have my P3K one, so I don't really care.

Would have been cool if they did old frame promos for new frame cards and vice versa, but still, I doubt it will hurt his price tag much at all.

Have judge promos ever affected the price of other printings?
I can't think of any. If anything, the judge version just becomes a more expensive version of the original.

Though, that one-eye looks like complete garbage in the new frame. It makes me want to gouge my own eyes out.

[edit] Also, I think people look forward to judge foils because they are usually pretty interesting but I find flusterstorm very deflating. Boring!

At the same time most other promo cards haven't had as limited availability as P3K did. It will be interesting to see how this affects prices.

Indeed. I'm very curious.

I like both. At least I can get foil flusterstorm's now while I previously couldn't. And I hope this drops xiahou dun's price a bit so I can pick one up for EDH. But nice choice of promos and now it makes sense why xiahou wasn't in FTV: L.

I'm hoping he is widely enough distributed to drop the promo version to $30. </fatchance>

It would be interesting to know how many of these judge promos are being given away. If it's only to the judges at worlds, and only for worlds, how readily available are these going to be? Are they going to be giving them away at multiple events through the rest of 2011 or part of 2012?

And even if it's just the judge staff at Worlds, how many of them are going to keep them for their own EDH decks, as EDH was originally started by the judges anyways?

Factors I'd want to figure out before truly wagering how this is going to affect the prices of anything.

Judge promo season starts at worlds. throughout the year they are disbursed at judging events and large events.

For instance, the promo old frame Sword of Fire/ice was still being disbursed as of 2 weeks ago. I believe that they are now discontinued for Judge promos after the (magic season) year is done. Their price is around $65 now.

This will tank xia hou's price, hard. The English p3k may retain value due to the pimp factor but the more common Asian ones will tank as supply pretty much just got a sudden surge. Judge foils don't get printed enough to affect 20-30 dollar rares. But when you are talking about a 200 dollar ultra low print run rare, it will tank it.

I'm more curious about the flusterstorm. Traditionally pimp sb cards seldom cost alot. I'm guessing the foil fluster will end up around 30. Judge xiahou will be 50 at Max.

I don't see how it will drop the Asian Xiahous. Those are still difficult to find. Not to mention that Judge Xiahou looks grotesque imo. Of course what one considers "pimp" will be subjective.

Those who like Foils will gravitate towards foils will pick him up, but I think his price will be about $100 like Dark Confidant. The English will tank a bit at first, but will recover.

I agree that Asian will drop a bit more, but I don't see it tanking all the way to $30, that's ridic. I think even if the English dropped to 150, then Asian would still go for 130. But, I foresee a trend of affecting the price initially, and then a slow increase over time.

We will see, the closest example would be berserk-ftv. I definitely see a xiahou dun price slump of huge proportions. Time will tell.

But, Berserk was garbage anyway. Xiahou is actually decent

Asian copies have been available for under $130 on Ebay for a while. All 7 that sold on Ebay from 11/6-11/15 ended under $120, and I recall looking maybe 2 months ago and seeing them for $120 and under a lot.

Most people don't know how many judge foils enter the market. I've been told second hand that they passed out only 1500 Bloodstained Mires. The P3K will move down, but I think it will return once the judge foil pool dries up.

Luckily, the English version should retain a lot of it's price. The asian ones not so much as they were only gathered for play more than collecting a set. It should drop it a little for a bit as reprints always do, but I don't expect that one to stay low for too long. They are still a smaller print run than Judge promos.

Flusterstorm will be a nice one though since you can't get a foil any other way.
