The foil Mishra is a gag gift seeing as you said you were an EDH player. He is arguably the most useless general in EDH and I always try and trade them to EDH players as a joke.

It was made even funnier by the fact I was talking on another thread about having opened case of Fallen empires as a kid since they was 3/$1 back then since they were so over printed. I think at even one time they was 4/$1 at the local shop. And I used to throw away the mis-cut and off center ones becasue we couldn't play with them. I think I opened more packs of fallen Empires then any other set. I wish I knew back then I was better off buying $4 packs of revised and the dark

i didnt open it I mounted it in a 4" 6" frame with source secret santa 2011 I have a full playset of fallen empires from when I was 14 still

Still waiting for my package to post :( I think I went above and tried to outdo myself even. I figure it is Christmas give until it hurts then pierce your nipples and give more.


On that note here is the pic of the tat the wife is getting me for christmas . A friend owns a shop and agreed to do it for $50 in full color. I just got one 2 weeks ago of my kids initials and really liked it no pain at all.

I received my package yesterday from unsunghero, who is quite the boss. I found within a large envelope an awesome playmat (Khalni Heart Expedition, I believe) an altered-for-the-holidays Qasali Pridemage, a Batterskull, several lovely promo, textless, and random goodstuffs, and a pack of Innistrad. As my luck with Innistrad has been terrible lately, I didn't expect much, but lo and behold! A foil Snapcaster resided within. As I am not a foil afficionado, I am hoping to trade it for between 2-3 Windswept Heaths and finally have decent mana for Maverick (Christmastime leaves me with a tight budget). He also sent me quite a bit of snow (lands) which were a welcome respite from a winter consisting of fog and wind. So Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Xenu-Day, Sourcers! Set foil Infest is cool. Looks like he's trying for some Shrieking Drake antics, too. I wouldn't call that stuff junk; but there have definitely been more expensive packages received.

I know its not really my place to comment like this, because I didn't participate, but I'm a little underwhelmed with the amount of responses in this thread. Then again, I don't know how many people participated, but by checking out the SS thread, it seems like more than just a few people.

Nonetheless, this is a cool idea, and it is fun to see peoples gifts; especially the alters.

SDEmatt - I really thought what you did with the Christmas tree on the back of that Magus, incorporating the 5 colored circles as ornaments, was really creative, and it looked sweet!

I know some people don't have great cards or money but if you can't do the minimum you shouldn't be doing the secret Santa . Seeing how he probably recieved something over 30 dollars. I am not gonna participate next year , it has been fun the last two yearsbut oh well happy new year.

I'm not sure what your wish list looked like, as most peoples wish lists had a bunch of Foil Japanese pimp on it, and not a lot of people actually buy into that kind of stuff, so if that was you, perhaps you held the bar too high for yourself.

I came into it hoping to get the lowest on my list, which i did. Hell i was excited to get more brainstorms so i don't have to move them from deck to deck. Look at the bright side of the picture at the very least you can trade the stuff away.

If I were you, I'd make the most of it and probably use that foil Infest and the tokens in EDH or something. :)

Well, the snowlands definitely worth more than a Snapcaster Mage in my book, especially considering all the efforts put to find them (did not know they were not in your collection). The artifact land set also has good value and not trivial to gather. Other singles are easily 20$. I am curious how many orders did you place to cater for my wish list. Yeah, now i can play any mono-color deck with snow lands and scrying sheets:laugh: Again, it is way above my expectation, thank you very much:smile:

I didn't have any of it, basically. I knew of a few people who had some of the stuff, but in total, it was 1 order for the Snowlands, 1 order for the Reef and Hermit, 1 order for the bluffs, and 1 order for the artifact lands.

Yeah I really have no spare cards at all, and I just sent out all the foreign and foily stuff I could. Probably half of it is for very specific decks, but I probably put around $50 in cards in there.

I just wanted to say that every year we get a certain number of people who either can't really fulfill the obligation of ($20+ worth of real Legacy staples) or hope that they get something for nothing. Last year, I tried to make clear that everyone should give something that they themselves would be happy to receive.

I feel like there is at least a core of Source members who are serious about this and always give great gifts. I hope that they are all in it for the joy of giving (and I think they are). I won't lie and say I wouldn't be disappointed to receive a shoddy gift but it would never deter me from participating in the future and sending gifts I feel meet the criteria of SS.
