I had the idea for this after a tournament I played in recently. Most of the decks these days have this real "big cheap creature" focus, so I brewed up something I think might not even be that bad but I probably wouldn't put it in the new and developmental decks just yet..
The core of the control comes from Meekstone and Goldmeadow Harrier, alongside many other staple white controlly cards like Oblivion Ring and obviously, Swords to Plowshares and Path to Exile.
The core threat of the deck should have some assumptions made about it: they should be between one and two mana primarily, and for the large majority of them, they should fly to avoid blockers. Cards like Suntail Hawk and Squadron Hawk. Umezawa's Jitte will provide a boost to control, clock, etc, and will be tutored by Stoneforge Mystic. Jitte allows my small flying creatures to swing through for huge damage without succumbing to the effects of Meekstone.
-- The List: --
//Creatures: 20
4x Suntail Hawk
4x Squadron Hawk
4x Goldmeadow Harrier
4x Stoneforge Mystic
3x Aven Mindcensor
1x Commander Eesha
//Spells: 4
4x Swords to Plowshares
//Enchantments: 4
4x Oblivion Ring
//Planeswalkers: 3
3x Elspeth, Knight-Errant
//Artifacts: 6
2x Umezawa's Jitte
4x Meekstone
//Lands: 23
22x Foil Plains
1x Kor Haven
//Sideboard: 15
3x Leyline of Sanctity
4x Orim's Chant
4x Tormod's Crypt
2x Silence
2x Funeral Pyre
I think most of the deck choices should be obvious, I'm not sure if I'm running too many creatures, I may drop something down a bit for 2-3 Path to Exile's. I originally had Aether Vial's in the deck but weren't convinced they were worth it given that my creatures aren't like merfolk's where a lot of stuff is two mana and whatnot. Maybe they are worth it though, getting around counters would be a big deal. I'll experiment with that one.
Commander Eesha has always been a pet card of mine. She's just about the best blocker in the game, she's out of meekstone range, she's out of bolt range, she's expensive, but so are Elspeth's and to some extent, until I can stabilize they both serve a delaying purpose and then, if need be, Eesha can pick up a jitte and swing unabated.
When I was a teenager, Commander Eesha carried me through many games, and I've been desperately wanting to sleeve her up again, I think this sort of archetype would be perfect for her. She was my nostalgic first rare haha, so I guess I owe her something. Her and Jareth, Leonine Titan have been my favorite cards printed, but Jareth is far to unrealistic for legacy sadly..
