Due to schoolwork and research and some more responsibilities I had to disappear from the PTQ and Legacy scene. Having not played magic since October I figured Top Deck Game's first big Legacy tournament was a good place to start.

SB: 3 [PS] Meddling Mage

I decided the cut the Stoneforge Mystics as the format is full of Punishing Fires and Delver decks with a million burn spells.

Round 1: UG Tempo
One for one with removal, draw a lot of cards with Standstill and Jace and giggle.
1-0 matches

Round 2: Esperblade
Don't remember much from this match except that I screwed up game 2 with how I played Vendillion Clique and Snapcaster Mage and barely won game 3 on time.
2-0 in matches

Round 3:UR Delver aggro
I kept 2 Standstills on the draw, not knowing what he was playing. Then he played a turn 1 delver and I drew another Standstill and lost pretty quickly.
I sided in both Path to Exiles and won game 2 without casting a single removal spell when he mana screwed and I milled him with Jace.
Game 3 I kept a hand with 2 Swords to Plowshares. I slowrolled my Swords to play around Daze and got blown out by Surgical Extraction for Swords to Plowshares.
2-1 in matches

Round 4: Canadian thresh with Delver
I got Stifled and Wastelanded out of mana when I made some greedy choices for my mana.
I drew a million removal spells game 2 and 3 and won those pretty easily, this time playing around both Daze and Surgical Extraction.
3-1

Round 5: ID with UGRb Counterbalance
3-1-1

Top 8: Bant
I won this match, but I did screw up game 3 when I played a little too fast and ran out a Standstill into his Misty Rainforest. He somehow did not have a Dryad Arbor in his Maindeck which surprised him and myself.

Top 4: UGRb counterbalance
I won game 1 by crushing him with 2 for 1s.
Games 2 and 3 were pretty lopsided as he had REBs and Pyroblasts to win counterwars. I didn't side in all 3 Surgical Extractions thinking it was a bad idea to give him more 1 drops to counter with Counterbalance. But in hindsight I probably should have sided in Surgical Extrations to extract his Pyroblasts.

Overall it was a good experience. Top Deck Games had a very beautiful interior and plenty of game space. The prices on the supplies and cards were competitively priced too. If it wasn't for school I would probably come back for the weekly Monday Night Legacy tournaments. Props to Nick Coss for creating a great place for gaming.

I had the Arbor, but thought you wouldn't play out the standstill knowing I had arbor without yourself having a factory or a waste ready. After I didn't snag it, and cracked standstill, you had crucible running and I was locked. I guess I overthought it.

Congrats on the finish.

In Texas Hold'em (and most card/ strategy games with hidden elements btw) one common mistake is to multilevel think one step too far... :D

Anyway interesting list. How did the discard spells perform in a Landstill build? How about Thoughtseize life loss? Also would you stick to GftT as the 5th spot removal?

Thoughtseize life loss was not relevant too often. For the 5th removal spell, I am not a big fan of Path to Exile nor am I a fan of removal that gets Spell Snared, so it will probably change often.
