This is the board state. I have 1 bitterblossom in play, a jitte with 2 counters. and I am down to 1 life.

At my upkeep, I use a jitte counter. In response, my opponent uses a lightning bolt, Then I say in response, I use a jitte counter.

My opponent said i'm dead because as the stack resolves, After my last jitte counter removal, I will be down to 3, and he bolts me. But I still have another jitte counter on the stack that could bring my life to 2.

So am i dead as the opponent said?

Yes, you are dead. Your second Jitte counter would resolve, bringing your life to 3. Opponent's lightning bolt would kill you with the first Jitte counter on the stack.

The cost for activating a Jitte ability is removing the counter. The way you described the actions would leave a stack like this:

4. Jitte +2 life
3. Lightning Bolt
2. Jitte +2 life
1. Bitterblossom

Resolve the stack top down.

After an item resolves from the stack, both players are given priority. Whenever priority would be passed to a player, the game checks for the state of various things. One of those is lethal damage to creatures and players.
