I hope that this is the correct place for this thread.

I know that the GP is still months away but I have just spent the last few hours trying to book hotels within walking distance of Lucas Oil Stadium. As of right now, it seems that most everywhere in downtown Indy that was reasonably priced (ie under 150 a night) is booked solid.

I'm more posting this as a heads up that if you were planning on staying downtown, book now before its too late. Personally, I'm staying at the airport then driving in and parking, our hotel was only 48 a night and got good reviews.

I guess this is a sign that GP Indy is gonna be huge or that there are a boatload of other events in Indy that weekend too.

I briefly checked Hotwire the other day and they were still showing a bunch of places for $100-150 in the "0-2.0 mile" range. Unfortunately, they don't show the address or name until you book.

Looking forward to the event, hope to see plenty of Source people there!

My buddy just secured a 2 double bed / couch room for $140 a night, unfortunately it isn't within walking distance so we will have to pay for parking as well. He said all the downtown hotels are either booked or are wanting $220 + per night.

We got a room at the University Place Conference Center and hotel. Hotels.com had a big discount on the rate ($108/night) and they have a shuttle to the stadium. Not sure if there were rooms left though.

Just booked mine at:
Marriott Indianapolis Downtown
350 W Maryland St

for about $150 a night after taxes and everything. That's a nice hotel and is very close.

I stayed there at the last SCG event, it is a really nice hotel. It's probably within walking distance unless it's super snowy and cold.
