Sulfuric Vortex Question

Scenario: Opponent has Sulfuric Vortex in play, I have Jitte with 4 counters and Deed. Am I correct in thinking that I can activate Jitte x4 to gain life, and respond by blowing Deed for 3 to destroy the Vortex and let me actually gain the life?

I'm pretty sure this works as the rulings on Jitte state that


If the Jitte leaves the battlefield after the "+2/+2" mode is announced but before it resolves, the bonus is given to the creature that was most recently equipped once the ability resolves.


Just wanted to be sure.

You gain life upon resolution of the activated ability. Since you're stacking the four abilities and subsequently destroying the Vortex (without passing priority I would assume), you would then gain life as each ability resolves.
