I know it's not possible to fetch out an Island Fish Jasconius using onslaught fetchlands. It may have something to do with the oracle creature types on Island Fish or how fetching up an ''Island card'' is interpreted.

I was curious if there was a time that the rules enabled to use a Mirage fetchland to get out a quick Island Fish Jasconius (because he's an Island Fish, so technically he fits the description of an Island card). If so, that would've made such a sweet deck during that time. As far as I know, there has never been such a deck. Whether it wasn't possible or whether people didn't really think about it is something I'd really like to find out.

To my knowledge, it's never been an issue. Island Fish Jasconius was Oracle type Island-Fish (not Island Fish) for as long as I can remember, probably since Mirage. It was changed to type Fish in the creature type standardization of 2007. Someone who was paying better attention during that time might have a more specific answer (I skipped Mirage).

They keep subtypes unique to one type so that the above can't occur.
