As many may have guessed from the deck name, this is a veteran explorer based Jund deck.

Why not in the Nice fit deck? First, the deck have a new engine that it didn't have in the base Nice fit. Second, the deck is extremely incomplete and searching for spots. This is a pretty sketchy list. Without further ado:

Creatures:
2 Broodmate Dragon
4 Veteran Explorer
1 Wickerbough Elder
1 Scavenging Ooze
1 Kitchen Finks
1 Eternal Witness
4 Bloodbraid Elf

Removal:
2 Terminate
4 Lightning Bolt
2 Maelstrom Pulse
4 Pernicious Deed
1 Liliana of the Veil

Engine:
1 Sylvan Library
4 Cabal Therapy
4 Green Sun's Zenith
1 Sensei's Divining Top

Lands:
1 Dryad Arbor
2 Verdant Catacombs
3 Bayou
1 Taiga
2 Badlands
1 Mountain
4 Misty Rainforest
4 Forest
2 Swamp
2 Wooded Foothills
1 Phyrexian Tower

The main reasons for this decks are two. First, i really didn't like to have a finisher i couldn't tutor for with GSZ. Grave Titan and the Deranged Hermit are now gone and Broodmate Dragon, for only 1 more mana than Deranged Hermit and No echo put 8 points of power with flying on the table. While this may be less than the absurd 10 points titan provide, the flying is a HUGE plus. It's just much more efficient as a clock, and it can be tutored. Broodmate has played amazing until now for me.
The second thing is Bloobraid elf. Yes, it doesn't work with GSZ, but it's a secondary engine, and it's amazing. Especially combined with top and Sylvan library. The card just make control a breeze.
Thrun has been removed. With Broodmate to win stalemates on the ground and BBE to screw control, he's no longer needed.
Maelstrom doesn't feel as hot anymore to me. The main reason is bolt. With bolt in the deck, planeswalker aren't an issue as much as before. BBE also help a lot since it come with haste and may hit unprotected Jaces. Maelstrom Pulse feel a lot an overcosted disenchant or a overcosted terminate. It's probably the weakest card in the deck. The other card that doesn't feel as hot to me is Liliana. With no sinergy with the +1 and not many creatures that hold the ground she feel extremely vulnerable.
Maybe something like piroclasm? Maybe Arc Trail would just be better, as it works also a sacrifice outlet for Explorer.
Thoughts?

Punishing Fire+Liliana is the way to go if you are going to play a variant of Nice Fit in Jund, in my opinion. That combo was really powerful in Modern before they banned Punishing Fire and breaks the +1 symmetry for the low cost of one activation of one mana w/ Grove.

Tao ran a Jund list on Magic-League recently ( http://www.magic-league.com/deck/75470/legacy_t15.html#UW%20Stoneblade59615 ) and it did well for him.

Uh... this is a Nic Fit variant. Stating in the opener that it isn't Nic Fit doesn't not make it Nic Fit. All you really need to qualify as a Nic Fit deck is to use the Explorer/Therapy combo and the GSZ or Gifts package.

Also, you put BBE somewhere under "Lands".

As for advice on a GBr Nic Fit deck, the main reasons to choose red over another color are the following:

#1Red Elemental Blast
#2Pyroblast

It is rather sad but red doesn't really offer much. Red removal is trumped by Black and White removal and burn reach is rather weak with such a passive/reactive deck.

Yes, how could i forget. The Punishing fire package seems extremely good here.

Punishing Fire + good sideboard cards would seem to be a solid reason to go for GBr, especially in a maverick/tempo infested metagame.
