Can I cast the spell imprinted by Isochron Scepter if my opponent has played an Orim's Chant on me? Is Isochron Scepter immune to Chant-effects?

thanks

No. Isochron Scepter says that you may cast a copy of the imprinted card. Orim's Chant says that you can't cast spells this turn. You can activate the scepter of course, but you won't be able to cast the copy, so it stops existing.

This is answered in the gatherer rulings for scepter:
12/1/2004: You can't cast the copy if an effect prevents you from casting Instants or from casting that particular Instant.

Note: Isochron Scepter does get around meddling mage however, because meddling mage only prevents you from casting the named card. The scepter allows you to cast a copy, which is not a card.

Interesting, thanks

That also means that Isochron Scepter is not an answer to Iona, since Iona reads "spells".
