Hello everyone. I was asked to let you know about this event, which I decided to do:
After running the two largest SCG Super IQs, BC Comix has decided to run two in a single weekend. Standard on Saturday and then, on Sunday among the first Legacy Super Qualifiers. Here's just about every detail:
Prizes: (For both the Standard and Legacy event)
$1000 cash pay-out among the Top 8. Guaranteed. Prizes are likely to reach down to Top 16 and Top 32.
1st - $400, Qualification for a StarCityGames.com Invitational, 4 Open Series Points and a fricken trophy.
2nd - $200, Qualification for a StarCityGames.com Invitational, 2 Open Series Points
3rd-4th - $100, 1 Open Series Point
5th-8th - $50
In addition, the Top 8 players will all receive a Top 8 Pin and SCG Exclusive Playmat
Remember this is the minimum guarantee, no matter what the attendance. Prizes will likely scale upwards based on attendance. Prizes may also be taken as store credit for an even larger pay-out.
When:
Saturday, April 14th - Standard Super IQ
Sunday, April 15th - Legacy Super IQ (This is the one you probably care (more) about.)
Doors Open at 9 A.M. and Registration ends at 10:30 with the event scheduled to start at 11:00.
Where:
The event is going to be run at BC Comix in Fenton MI.
17125 Silver Parkway
Fenton, MI 48430
And if you have any questions you can give them a call at (810) 208-7100
Entry:
Entry for each event is $25.
REL and Judging:
These events will both be run at Competitive REL, meaning that deck lists are required and you should bring your A game.
Furthermore, both days will have at least a Level 2 Head Judge accompanied by several other floor judges.
Side Events:
Signups will be happening all day, both days for Win-a-boxes for Standard and Legacy, as well as drafts.
Food and Accommodations:
Being aware that this is a two-day event, there is a Holiday Inn Express within walking distance of the store, along with a pair of supermarkets and several restaurants (some of which we can help furnish discounts for) of all manners. We're currently in talks with the Hotel's proprietor to see if we can work out a deal for anyone interested in staying overnight, playing in both days of the event. Updates to come.
The Hotel's information is:
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Fenton
17800 Silver Parkway
Fenton, MI
Front Desk: 1 810 714 7171
Update: We've worked out a deal with the Hotel so that a night will only be $72.00 (plus tax.) So, if you're thinking of coming from out of the area, or if your friends are coming for Standard or whatnot. If you call up and ask for the "BC Block" you will be eligible for this discount. I'm, glad to see that we were able to work out a discount and hope that some of you are able to take advantage of it.
-------------------------------------------
On a personal note, I'll be judging Day 1 and winning on Day 2. There are a lot of people that I saw at the Grand Prix that I'd love to be able to see again and really spend time with, so if anyone from outside the area is interested, I'd love for you to come play, hang out and see what the Michigan Legacy scene is like.
