I don't normally read tournament reports, but I figured 16th at a GP had to be interesting. I was not disappointed and found it thoroughly amusing. Congrats on the finish.

I agree, nothing is better than an aged single malt. Hopefully one day I will have the opportunity to play against you in a GP and celebrate top8 with a bottle of Glenlivet XXV.

I approve of the Scotch. Single malt is the way to go. No other way to class up a Magic event than suit and tie, plus a tumbler of single-malt. It's the nicest way of saying "fuck y'all."

And it's your fucking fault dealers at Indy were selling Scavenging Ooze for $40.

Took my time to read it. You had a lot of luck, but didn't have 3 byes, so congrats! Well played.

I asked regional players at the GP Indy thread about the weather, and Kirby Kaufman (@KirbyKaufman & RandomxGestures on The Source) suggests gloves, coat, and scarf. I end up not taking off the scarf all weekend due to the cold.
It's things like this that make me think temperatures are relative. From this Midwesterner, the weather was beautiful for March all weekend long!
Very wise call on St. Elmo's. Why go to Fogo when that place exists?
The smaller the group, the more likely the opponent is on a Linear deck. This helps mulliganing sketchy hands easier throughout the day.
Linear, as in burn or combo?

Should have put Burn in hindsight - something that doesn't involve a large Legacy investment nor complex decision trees like Control.
