life from the loam combo(?)

Hello,
I would like to ask you if a specific combo actually works:

So i have a Psychatog on the field and a Life from the loam in my graveyard.
I play a Brainstorm and instead of drawing the first card i decide to dredge 3 cards from the top of my library to my graveyard and i pick up Life from the Loam.
Do i have the time while brainstorm is on the stack to discard Life from the Loam with psychatog's ability so as to dredge again for the 2nd and the 3rd card? :eyebrow:

e: If this combo works it would be pretty good with Golgari Grave-Troll too!

No you do not. The reason being Brainstorm is still resolving. You have to finish the draw three cards and put two back on your library. You only replaced one of the draws with a Dredge.

I'm sure someone will point out the rule(s) that deal with this.

yeap i thought so too
it would be crazy to simply put 24cards in your library that simple..
[example with playing accumulated knowledge(3 allready in graveyard) and Golgari Grave-Troll]

In order to activate abilities or play spells, you need priority. No one has priority while a spell is resolving.
