~All decklists are of the post mental misstep banning era, aka, Oct 2nd 2011 through Apr 9th 2012, a good 6 months + worth of data. Decklists are from the Starcity open series legacy events between this time period, have to of placed just 2 or more times in the top 16. Lists are based on highest performance / most recent. (Example: Burn's highest finish was 1st, but it placed it's highest position twice, so I used the version that won the most recently.)

~Please note; I know what placed & is posted may or may not be the same exact version we would normally run, expect, are used to, etc, keep in mind that everyone has their own playstyles, tweaks, resources, metagames get taken into account, etc. What's important is that the majority / basis of these decklist are a good enough representation of the decks themselves, & have even proven themselves as good decks thanks to the players that piloted them.

~Singles prices will be based on Starcity, cheapest version/set available, (Example: Dual lands will be revised prices, not beta) at NM/M condition, the first total is a sum of those prices. A second total will be a "range" total for that same exact decklist that is utilized from tcgplayer. In the interest of savings, there will be a "Replace Mint/Near Mint with Played" option at the bottom of each list for more expensive cards.

A link to each decklist, that is a really good idea thank you >^,^< ~EDIT: I made the players name, where they played, what place they finished, the event, the date, & the location stand out by changing the ink to green, I hope that is enough information, ty again for the suggestion.

Also I got the lists from each top 16 of the starcity sunday legacy events, I looked at each top 16 starting with 10-02-2011, first one after misstep ban, and wrote down the names of the 16 decks that placed, then did so for the next sunday and the next and so on, all the way to Apr 8th 2012, then I went back and found whatever each deck that placed more than once in the top 16, and found their highest placing, and if there was a tie for that deck's highest placing in 2 tournaments or more, I took the most recent version, there was some "minor" exceptions, like when the highest merfolk deck was a non traditional version that splashed black & white, and since nearly all the other merfolk decks were mono blue, i went with the highest mono blue merfolk list, so I made sure the decklists represent the decks on a proper level in that aspect, as for the little tweaks in them after that, everyone runs their own setup and I didn't want to mess with the decklists themselves since they had proven themselves, as long as the decklist was a good enough representation I was ok with it, I't'd be alot harder to "Switch" cards I'd run or not run in the decks I have myself, and it'd be even harder to speculate on what to "fix" in decklists that I don't run myself.

The $notes for the RUG list says Polluted Delta can't get any lands in the list but that is incorrect, Polluted delta can fetch both Volcanic and Tropical Island.

No wonder the popularity of Maverick. It costs around $1500 compared to $2000-$2500 of blue decks but it outperforms all of them.

Having said that the prices are really crazy currently. Tarmogoyfs are still pulling around $100 in US while you can find them for 55€ ($72) in Europe. On the other hand Savannahs are $100 now?? What nonsense.

As I was making this list over the past couple days, I had to go all the way back up in the middle of it from like the 20th deck down and fix the price of Savannah on every list, because in between the time I started and the time I finished, which was only a few days, Savannah went from 69.99 to 99.99 lol, grats Maverick I suppose.

No wonder the popularity of Maverick. It costs around $1500 compared to $2000-$2500 of blue decks but it outperforms all of them.

Having said that the prices are really crazy currently. Tarmogoyfs are still pulling around $100 in US while you can find them for 55€ ($72) in Europe. On the other hand Savannahs are $100 now?? What nonsense.

Those are SSG prices. In reality you can get cards for like 20-40% less on ebay, or even like 20% less at just about any other store. However, SSG is a decent source cause they have everything stocked and are at least consistent in their overpricing.

By the way, the last deck there "G/B" is Nic fit, it is often GBW or GBR too. It hasn't seen much play in the US but it is a tier 1 deck mostly because of play in Europe.

Great post there man, hopefully in the near future you could post every playable legacy deck just to get a view on what is probably the cheapest to play. Also it would be good to get T8 from other sources other than SCG as basis. Since America is not the only country playing Legacy, anyway just an after though.

As for the decks, wow, I didn't know my deck costs around $1,200, that's just insane when I just barely even spent $500 to build it (I got the Bob's and Thoughtseize back when it was still $10 ea, how lucky). And one of the cheapest that I would surely consider would be Dredge, I think this would justify me building it right now.

Sorry didn't see them, must have browsed through without reading them all (edited my post). As others have said TC Decks (http://www.thecouncil.es/tcdecks/index.php) is probably one of the best sources of T8, I look through it for some input as well.

Also on the BW list, there are more optimal builds already than the one posted. will look if I can find a more optimal list for you to use.

A budget/personal preference suggestion: In the TES decklist you can swap some/all of the Orim's Chants for Silences to circumvent Leyline of Sanctity, as a budget measure, and because you don't use the kicker cost too often to become mandatory to carry Orim's Chants instead of Silences.

One thing I have noticed is that you can do all of this a LOT cheaper if you are willing to do a number of things:

Trade locally
Trade online
Compare prices, including ebay.
Be patient.

I recently moved from a UBr storm list that featured a single sea and a single volcanic (and no Grims) to UW CounterTop entirely via trading out that deck, and a few ~$10 cards I had lying around.

For example, my deck is listed as having a "low" of about $700 (high of $1,200) but when I tallied up how much it actually cost it was still a bit less than even that.

Yea as far as trading goes, I had a "blargh" fnm night as far as matches / games / mullingans / luck / draws go, but my trade made it all worth it. I was at the point to where I was about to just sell my unhinged lands to a big card shop cause noone ever wanted them, then tonight I turned 11 unhinged forests, 7 unhinged plains, 8 innistrad packs, 2 stomping ground & 1 steam vent into a candelabra of tawnos, I had 3 candels for the obvious one and only deck they would go in, but I never got the 4th, and no the deck im refering to is NOT type 1.5 12 post >^,^< lol.

You are going to scare off all the new players. People only pay these prices on site or maybe for the last handful of cards they need to play a given deck on a time limit. No one should ever pay these prices for the entire deck, that is just insane. Under the SCG price guide my mono-red Standard deck is probably worth $300. I'd suggest MOTL or TCGPlayer High/Mid/Low.
