I am disappoint that this is the same weekend as one of the only northeast SCG's of the rest of the year. That just seems like poor planning.

The event was actually announced months and months ago on Jupiter's site, before this series was announced.

Hey, that's a really cool story bro. But the event's date was just announced yesterday, months after SCG posted its schedule and that's all that matters. There are at least 2 other weekends this could've been held and made more sense, since the only GPs it would conflict with are on the other side of the world. It's not enough to say, "we're having this event 12 months from now, save the date!" and then not tell us exactly what date that is until 4 weeks prior, then have it conflict with a huge multi-day/format event that's less than 5 hours away. This was an easily avoidable situation, no excuse.

Outstanding. So what difference does it make? If you're qualified for entry into the Invitational, would you rather have a reasonable opportunity to win a sizable amount of money playing against a sampling of legitimately good Legacy players, or spend your time and money playing against sloppy opponents running bad decks all day?
I've been to a handful of Opens, and they're honestly not even close to the all-around quality of a monthly Jupiter NELC. This is actually also taking into consideration card stock (which basically includes zero pimp and a stale amount of trade, as a large portion of Legacy Open competitors are hold-outs from Standard anyhow).

You have almost a full month of preparation to attend the event; not that big of a deal. Besides, the only people who are eligible to play in it are people that are serious about winning money playing Legacy and those who have attended a good portion of the events, and to be honest I think someone clocking in at 9th or 10th place in any given NELC still is probably better than any given Legacy Open Champion dodging bad match-ups and playing against poor competition all day.
I'm basically trying to sell you on going because I want to see everyone that day!

I think what he's saying is that it would have been nice to go to both.
You know, play ALL the magic.

Sounds good.
Anyhow, a situation came up last year where several of the later grinders did not have full capacity, but were played out anyhow for the points. If this situation occurs again, will the same policy be in effect?
Additionally, can points be split in the event players requiring a specific amount needing more or less than their opponent to qualify in the finals of a grinder?

We have had the invitational scheduled on our calendar on the website for over 3 months. I can't help it you haven't bothered to look anywhere but the source. Not to mention starcity announced Massachusetts within the last month.

Also this is our tournament series we do not cater to what Star City would like but we usually do try to avoid scheduling conflicts. We have other events planned other weekends so that's why the 9th was picked. If you don't like it then don't show up, we are saddened that it is the same weekend but we will not be changing the schedule.

Very cool story bro, but not so much. Thanks, 'Nern.

Also I announced the date of the invitational a solid year ago when the series was created. It was just taken down for a few months in the fall and early winter when it was revised. I completely agree with Hollywood. I also like the revision of the previous revision, good job.

Theoretically, you can go to both if you only want to play Legacy, no? (Legacy in Worcester is Sunday and it's only a 4 hour drive?)

Any updates on these?

Hollywood points will most likely not be able to split among players, but if there is a later grinder that isn't full and has 8 or more players we will fire it anyway for the points.
