Recently hit this fun little situation in a Commander game:

I had Dominus of Fealty out and my opponent had his commander, Sliver Overlord, out. My turn comes, my Dominus borrows him.

If I pay 3 to Gain Control of Target Sliver, and target the Sliver Overlord, where is this Sliver Overlord going to be when my turn ends and why?

My guess was that it stayed with me, but I couldn't quite explain it well. I rambled something about when the Dominus's ability ends, Overlord goes back to its permanent controller, which would be me at that point, which seems like a pretty poor explanation that I'm not even 100% sure is correct, so a better way to explain what happens would be appreciated.

You will keep it.

You have 2 control effects on it, one that is until end of turn, and one that is permanent. The one at end of turn will wear off, but another control effect still exists, allowing you to retain control of it.

Control effects are applied in timestamp order. The Overlord's ability is the most recent, so nothing of consequence happens when the Dominus's ability ends since that's an older effect.
