This is the Legacy deck I've been working on for a while and still making touches to. It usually gets there between T2-T4 (or I lose normally) and I feel it is quite a fun deck to toss in when no one expects it. So. Thoughts?

The Deck:

24 Lands

3x Dark Depths
1x Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
1x Lake of the Dead
2x Cavern of Souls
2x Twilight Mire
2x Llanowar Wastes
2x Woodland Cemetery
5x Snow-Covered Forest
6x Snow-Covered Swamp

4x Wastelands is a maybe.

Deck:

3x Vampire Hexmage
3x Vampire Nighthawk
3x Gatekeeper of Malakir
2x Birds of Paradise
2x Eternal Witness
2x Vines of Vastwood
2x Lightning Greaves
4x Dark Ritual
4x Crop Rotation
4x Into the North
3x Beseech the Queen

Board:

1x Engineered Plague
4x Nature's Claim
1x Vampire Hexmage
1x Dark Depths
2x Sylvan's Might
1x Gatekeeper of Malakir
1x Bojuka Bog
1x Ghost Quarter/Wasteland
2x Autumn's Veil
1x Life's Finale

Possibilites:

3x Hand Discard of your choice
2x Grafdigger's Cage

This has returned in all it's turn two horror.

It's stood in front of Charbelcher, Maverick, Re-animator, Stoneblade and various other decks and has survived the onslaught. It can take a beating and will take one but is still a work in progress. The speed though that this combo can come off is pretty amazing though.

Your Mana-base:

1x Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth

The win-more and the enabler for T2. It makes a lot of things happen in this deck. People go and try to Waste the DD, but this is the one they should normally aim at.

1x Lake of the Dead

If you get stuffed by control, Lake of the Dead allows you with Urborg to keep pulling off counters if Hexmage gets needled.

3x Dark Depths

The combo piece. It makes you a 20/20 Flying, Indestructible Black Avatar that I like to call Cthulu.

5x Snow-Covered Forest
6x Snow-Covered Swamp

Your bread-and-butter Swamps and Forests

2x Llanowar Wastes
2x Woodland Cemetery
2x Twilight Mire

Mana-Fixing like a champ.

2x Cavern of Souls

Protecting your Hexmage at all costs right?

Cards that can be used for your mana-base:

4x Wasteland

Karakas and Maze of Ith are a a pain to deal with. Get rid of them...

The Cards:

3x Vampire Hexmage

The other combo-piece. Don't take it out too soon and make sure it's safe before you make all Hell break loose.

3x Vampire Nighthawk
3x Gatekeeper of Malakir

Your combo protection. The two best low-cost Vampires who can count as removal on sticks.

2x Birds of Paradise

Another combo-enabler, for some T2 fixing and ritualing.

2x Eternal Witness

So you can go back and grab combo pieces from the yard.

4x Dark Ritual

To make things go a little quicker.

4x Crop Rotation
4x Living Wish
4x Into the North
3x Beseech the Queen

Your tutors. Grab everything you need with these cards and one green and black mana out and get ready for some speed off the bat. Living Wish is important because it makes things that much easier to grab in case of Extraction.

2x Vines of Vastwood
2x Lightning Greaves

Your finishing touches. These are your protection and in the case of Greaves, allow you to win on Turn 2 if you set up right.

Your Board:

1x Dark Depths
1x Vampire Hexmage

Extra combo pieces to Wish in.

1x Ghost Quarter

Some extra land-removal

1x Bojuka Bog

Same idea, for re-animator and dredge

1x Engineered Plague
4x Nature's Claim
1x Life's Finale

The harder cards to board in for match-ups. Plague is a definite winner. It freezes Maverick, Goblins, Stoneblade and Delver with little effort and requires them to play to it. Nature's Claim provides more back-up and Life's Finale rips pieces apart, especially for decks like Belcher.

2x Autumn's Veil
1x Gatekeeper of Malakir

More protection and things to grab for the sake of protection

2x Sylvan's Might

Just to make sure you don't get stopped by a bird.

Other Options:

2x Grafdigger's Cage

Does a lot to stop Dredge and Re-animator

3x Duress/Cabal Therapy/Hymn to Tourach/Inquisition of Kozilek

Get rid of your opponent's threats before they get rid of you.

And maybe an extra Urborg or Wasteland in the board.

and various others! =)

So, post suggestions and whatnot =)

I used to have a Hex-Depths deck for fun and Living Wish was real good. Allows you to get any Piece of the depths combo, lets you get lands Like bojuka bog, karakas and since your running Urborg, another one of those.

I like the idea of the green spells in here as tutor effects, though I would play discard spells over spells that buff up my creatures. There is no sense in lossing to decks that have a tough time battling discard.

Even though it would be taking the deck in a control direction, I would take a look at some of The Rock's spells to see about taking a play out of their play book (Maelstrom Pulse, Green Sun's Zenith (only green creatures)).

Your list would be fun to play, I just wanted to give you food for thought.

That's why I love Living Wish too. If I had a Maze as well, it would be amazing.

For the Rock spells, I would not mind making a control set for this deck. The basic shell is just the tutors and Hexmage and Dark Depths with Urborg. The rest is up to the player and I like how Maelstrom Pulse can do some damage. I feel the discard set is a very strong one in this deck as well as G/B provides a lot in terms of destruction.
