Was messing around with Gaea's Touch and wanted to make a deck around it. This is what I came up with:

Original Deck Idea:

4x Dungrove Elder
4x Scute Mob
4x Veteran Explorer
4x Vinelasher Kudzu
3x Dauntless Dourbark
2x Oracle of Mul Daya
1x Primeval Titan
1x Wood Elves

4x Exploration
4x Gaea's Touch
4x Green Sun's Zenith

25x Forest

Basically the plan is to play a lot of forests and then beat face. The list can be pretty brutal versus a deck with small weenies like Threshold, but notably lacks any way of interacting with your opponent outside of attacking. It's a fun list to play with though, so it may be worth a look.

---------------------------------------------------------

Most Current Deck:

Mainboard:
4x Dungrove Elder
4x Sakura-Tribe Elder
4x Scute Mob
4x Veteran Explorer
3x Sylvan Safekeeper
3x Vinelasher Kudzu
2x Champion of Lambholt
1x Scryb Ranger
1x Scavenging Ooze
1x Oracle of Mul Daya

4x Green Sun's Zenith
3x Beast Within
3x Umezawa's Jitte

13x Forest
4x Verdant Catacombs
4x Misty Rainforest
2x Dryad Arbor

Sideboard:
4x Ensnaring Bridge
4x Thorn of Amethyst
4x Storm Front
3x Relic of Progenitus

I have found that Dungrove Elder is amazing in Legacy, being both bigger than almost anything your opponent will have and almost impossible to remove from the board without heavy investment from your opponent. The Scute Mobs do a great job at being an annoying threat and the Vinelasher Kudzus manage to be scary enough most of the time also. I am very surprised at the speed and power this deck has. It beats out many popular creature strategies out there with ease most of the time, but has difficulty with combo, especially Sneak Show. Thus, Ensnaring Bridge was thought up as a viable way to keep Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Griselbrand from ruining your day. The deck has also recently gained a Mother of Runes-esque ability in Sylvan Safekeeper, a better ramp card in Sakura-Tribe Elder, and a way to deliver the final punch in Champion of Lambholt. These cards have all been really good so far and I have to thank Freggle for the suggestions. Scryb Ranger, another solid suggestion by Freggle, has also been added to the decklist. It makes for a very good Green Sun's Zenith target as it preforms the task that Wood Elves was for in the original deck, growing Vinelasher Kudzu, as well as providing the deck with another source of combat tricks, which green can have trouble finding at times.

It is very interesting to see the deck develop as it moves from a gimmicky deck idea to an actual decent Legacy deck and I would like to thank everyone for all of their suggestions and comments. I really appreciate the interest this deck has received and look forward to its development in the future.

If you need some creature killing and disruption you can always add some bayou and fetches as there is no need to keep the deck mono colored. In my opinion this decks may be good against creature decks but really stands no chance against combo and maybe control. True, your critters hit hard but if you have absolutely no way to interact with the opponent or at least hold him back and disrupt him you are gonna lose. Also, apart from primeval, you don't have evasion or trample and your opponents can just block you. What are you gonna do against a resolved bitterblossom? I've never played a deck like this so i can't be 100% sure but this is the feeling I have. I do like your deck idea though.

I built a similar deck - what you have won't work unless you stall or block your opponents' strategies. Cursed Totem will wreck many creature based decks. I also ramped with Magus of the Vineyard. You can run more Primevals, and some other larger beats. There's a lot of wiggle room. Beast Within will give you some elimination.

Thanks. I'm glad you like the list. Dauntless Dourbark also has trample sometimes when the conditions are met to try and break through, but other than those 4 cards, there really is nothing. I guess the plan is to just keep swinging until they run out of blockers. I'll have to look into giving the deck some more ways to deal damage more efficiently.

Beast Within is an idea for removal, and in this deck a mere 3/3 is almost always just a chump blocker. Thrun, the Last Troll could be a way to break through counterspells and removal while Trinisphere and/or Thorn of Amethyst would be good vs things like dredge or storm. I have a feeling that there are a lot of green and artifact cards in the higher mana cost ranges that have been fairly unexplored in legacy and maybe a few of those could be hidden gems for this deck. Thresher Beast anyone?

Horn of Greed seems bonkers in this deck. Also Elvish Pioneer could be a way to ramp from the 1 drop slot.

I built a ramp/landfall version of this deck a while back;

http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?9246-Deck-Land-Assault&

I've been working on it here and there with newer cards like GSZ and Primeval Titan, but I'm fairly certain the ramp engine simply takes up too many slots to allow for serious disruption against the majority of the meta. :/

All the other engines I've tried were either too slow, weak or inconsistent. I DO think there's a tier 2 deck buried in there somewhere, GSZ + Dungrove Elder + Phyrexian Metamorph has got to be a serious headache for control. Lotus Cobra's might be good, I need to get around to testing... GSZ also saves slots by doubling as ramp with Primeval Titan and Wood Elves.

Elves has numberious competitive ramp options, it would be nice if Wizards threw Treefolk, Shaman or whatever a bone or two.

Oooo... Horn of Greed does seem pretty sweet. Elvish Pioneer might be better than Exploration at the 1-drop slot. Only testing will tell.

New Frontiers is also something I need to playtest too. Could give the deck some more late game consistency and power if needed.

@Bruticus: I think that cards like Lotus Cobra and Magus of the Vineyard don't fit too well into the deck because they are not increasing your land count, which is what this deck is all about. Lotus Cobra does have a nice landfall ability, but unless you're land-screwed (which means you're more dead than usual with this deck) I'm not sure how much that extra mana can really help you.

EDIT: Also, Umezawa's Jitte could be a good addition. It fits in almost any deck.

I was referring to the problems I've found with this archetype in general, not to your deck specifically, there are other ramp engines like Arbor Elf + Utopia Sprawl + Scryb Ranger.

Dryad Arbor should be your 61st card. It's basically a free slot. Maindecking a playset of Phyrexian Metamorph can turn Thorn of Amethyst into major disruption provided you stick a thorn first. Collective Voyage is probably a better call than New Frontiers.

As far as my build's concerned, chaining Harrows and Collective Voyage off Vineyards/Cobras into Green Sun Zenithed Titans and Dungroves sounds good in theory but I'm not sure how practical it is.

After a little more testing, I have been able to come up with this list:

4x Dungrove Elder
4x Veteran Explorer
4x Elvish Pioneer
4x Vinelasher Kudzu
4x Scute Mob
1x Oracle of Mul Daya
1x Primeval Titan
1x Wood Elves

4x Green Sun's Zenith
3x Umezawa's Jitte
3x Gaea's Touch
2x Collective Voyage

23x Forest
2x Dryad Arbor

The Dryad Arbor suggestion was a really good one and increases the power of the deck by a lot. Umezawa's Jitte turned out to be a fantastic card in the deck, as there is generally enough mana to both attack with it and then give it to another creature to block with without losing any tempo. Elvish Pioneer is preforming much better than Exploration did, especially with the Jitttes. Collective Voyage is never bad, but I rarely have situations where I want to see it. There are a few less threats in this version of the deck, but with a Jitte everything becomes a threat, so it sort of balances itself out. Gaea's Touch might be the worst card in the deck now, but I'm hesitant to take it out because of how explosive it can be at times. If you see any changes that I missed or have any other suggestions, feel free to let me know.

EDIT: Almost forgot that Horn of Greed turned out to be less awesome for me than for my opponents. Sure, you get lots of stuff, but they usually do also with all those fetchlands running about.

I love toying with decks like this. Although I haven't tested your list specifically I can see it going into top deck mode pretty quickly. ...and your richness of draw is lacking.

ex. top decking a Gaea's Touch mid-game.

I'd look at cards that can give you cards advantage or Virtual Card Advantage.

Heartwood Storyteller looks kinda sick in here I'd see if that works out for you.

Also Thelonite Druid looks like a solid finisher in here.

Yeah, but it's an aggressive deck and with all the lands being pulled out, the topdecking should be more efficient than something like Dragon Stompy.

ex. top decking a Gaea's Touch mid-game.
That's the biggest problem that I've been having with the card.

Creeping Renaissance?

It sure does. I'll try it out.

Possibly. I'll try it out, but just looking at it doesn't get me too excited.

EDIT: Eternal Witness is another card that I'm gonna look at trying out. It's a good GSZ target. I've been playing this deck on MTGO now and am really surprised by the speed and power that it has.

Here's the sideboard I threw together quickly:

4x Thorn of Amethyst
3x Storm Front
3x Relic of Progenitus
3x Beast Within
2x Choke

Also, I updated the OP with the latest list.

Pack hunt has obvious synergy with Zenith, it can grab explorers if you need more land or Dungrove Elders if you're flooded with them. Will be dead sometimes. Worth testing in 1 or 2 slots.

I've been looking into more utility cards and have come up with a few interesting, but probably not amazing, ideas:

Tornado
Avoid Fate
Bind
Guttural Response
Brittle Effigy
Gauntlets of Chaos
Willow Satyr
Helm of Possession
Primal Order
Scarwood Bandits
Stunted Growth
Genesis
Heartseeker
Argentum Armor
Vexing Shusher
Avarice Totem
Plow Under

Wasn't there a card from MM that turns all your Forests into 2/2s until end of turn? Could be a reasonable Alpha strike sorta thing. Seems better than the Druid (still costs the same, can be used the turn it's drawn, isn't subject to removal).

No ways to force an Explorer sac is kinda meh. There's gotta be something that would work with the deck, even if it's dumb like splashing for Cabal Therapy.

Why not more Titans? Seems like an auto-include, along with a few 1-off good lands.

I tried something similar to this a few months ago. I'm trying to find my list on MWS now. I remember one card I was very impressed with was Birthing Pod. You can really abuse it with cheap utility creatures and it works perfectly with the ramp strategy. Here are some of the better creatures I found while I was brewing.

1 drops
Veteran Explorer
Noble Hierarch

2 drops
Scavenging Ooze
Vexing Shusher
Viridian Zealot
Wall of Blossoms
Wall of Roots

3 drops
Eternal Witness
Dungrove Elder
Kitchen Finks

4 drops
Thrun, the Last Troll
Wickerbough Elder

5 drops
Genesis

6 drop
Primeval Titan

7 drop
Hornet Queen

These were the cards I was trying when I finally stopped. And the Hornet Queen may not be necessary, but I never lost when it resolved, seriously.

How about Howl of the Night Pack? I know it costs 7 but shouldn't be a problem running one to drop a ton of tokens on the table. That should finish the game. Living Lands also has some promise as a finisher.

What about Rude Awakening? I feel that it's better than living lands or nature's resurgence...

Natural Affinity?

Attacking and blocking with it has been decent enough for me so far. I saw Birthing Pod was mentioned. That could be an idea. I originally wanted to keep the deck mono green, but since Sneak Show is almost unwinnable, I was contemplating either a black or blue splash for some kind of disruption. Red could be a possibility too now that I think about it.

You never EVER want to see more than one Primeval Titan in a game, and even when you do see him, he is not even close to being your best creature. Also, 4 Green Sun's Zeniths is like having 5 titans anyways just in case you do want to see him.

@igri_is_a_bk: Hornet Queen looks sweet. I might have to try that out myself.

EDIT: Genesis Wave might be something to try out too.

Cracking a fetch doesnt let them draw of greed.
"Whenever you play a land" is different from "Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control".

Also, adding in cards like thorn of amethyst and sphere of resistance might be a good idea. The deck can pay for the extra cost and still gets the non-mana based advantages from having a lot of lands at the same time (scute mob and dungrove).

Yes, you are right. I guess I was testing that wrong. Thanks for letting me know.

@novatinhu: Were you ever able to come up with a way to beat Sneak Show? That seems like the worst matchup because of green's lack of interactions with that deck.

@k2thej: Thorn of Amethyst is in the sideboard and I bring it in versus decks that seem like they have a bunch of noncreatures. I'm not sure if I like Heartwood Storyteller. I'll have to test it before I throw it out though.

@Aernil: That could be a really good card. It has a similar effect to Natural Affinity but without making your lands extra vulnerable. I'll keep it in mind.

EDIT: I've been thinking about using some combination of Brittle Effigy, Storm Front, Whirlwind, and Katabatic Winds to try to combat Sneak Show.

I'm a pretty big green mage and have been for a while. If you look at the link novatinhu posted you'll see my name in there a lot. I have a few SUGGESTIONS to TRY.

Here's the most updated list:

Maindeck:
4x Dungrove Elder
4x Veteran Explorer
4x Elvish Pioneer
4x Vinelasher Kudzu
4x Scute Mob
1x Oracle of Mul Daya
1x Primeval Titan
1x Wood Elves

4x Green Sun's Zenith
3x Umezawa's Jitte
3x Beast Within
2x Genesis Wave

23x Forest
2x Dryad Arbor

Sideboard:
4x Thorn of Amethyst
3x Storm Front
3x Relic of Progenitus
3x Strangleroot Geist
2x Choke

I like what your doing. I think there are dead slots.

I would test the following:

Chord of Calling over Green Sun's Zenith

I know you are mono green, but Chord allows you to explore options outside of green. you have the ramp and or the dudes to cast it very easily.

More importantly it's instant speed! This will provide you some very serious combat tricks.

This will also allows you to do very interesting sideboard things. ...like perhaps Gilded Drake for sneak and show at the declaration of the attack phase.

It's not a definite, but I'd be open to it.

Fetch lands over some forests

Vinelasher Kudzu would love it.

Dosan the Falling Leaf for Wood Elves

IMO, Even given the nature of your deck Wood Elves are not that good.

Sakura-Tribe Elder over Elvish Pioneer

You are still ramping, but you gain search (more shuffle if you want to abuse say Sylvan Library) and combat tricks.

Look into Yeva, Nature's Herald (http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=132136&d=1339287221)

Here is a rough list I just dreamed up using your list as a basis. It does add white for Thalia because she IS that good. The fetches were int there already for Vinelasher.

Creatures (33)
4 Sylvan Safekeeper <---the green Mom
4 Scute Mob
4 Sakura-Tribe Elder
1 Dosan the Falling Leaf <---would be better with GSZ's could be cut.
4 Dungrove Elder
4 Vinelasher Kudzu
3 Heartwood Storyteller
4 Veteran Explorer
3 Champion of Lambholt<---insane with Safekeeper an unblock-able army
2 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben

Artifacts (3)
3 Thorn of Amethyst

Lands (24)
4 Misty Rainforest
2 Verdant Catacombs
16 Forest
2 Savannah

Perhaps Dosan should be swapped with Thenolite Druid. ...a creature based forest animator.

Better off with Ensnarring Bridge for Sneaky Show imo.

Now, why didn't I think of that? That actually sounds like a decent suggestion, unlike the ones I was coming up with.

@Freggle: No Chord of Calling or Green Sun's Zenith in your list?

Well, if you are stacking non creature hate (Heartwood Storyteller, Thorn of Amethyst, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben) you run into a conflict.

It's also not necessary for the deck to function. However, having said all of that there is still a good chance it is wrong.

Okay. I see what you were doing there now. The thing that I've found through a lot of testing is that Dungrove Elder is the best card in my current deck, so I feel that there is a need to get him on the battlefield as often and as quickly as possible. With this line of thought, Green Sun's Zenith would be a must for me because it would be suicide to not have it and Chord of Calling might be too slow.

Heh I've been playing Mono G Ramp for years now, but my take is somewhat different than the land ramp version. Its more based on the old Secret Force decks.
Its been consistent enough to gain a bit of a rep in my local scene, I've just never gone and written about it.

But I'm glad to see someone else has recognized the brutal power of Hornet Queen. That card is the absolute tits.
(I detail Hornet Queen's application in Legacy on my blog: http://nyxathidgoestotown.wordpress.com/2012/02/02/my-favourite-cards-of-2011/)

Secret Force 2K11 (because I havent played it all year :P)

4x Llanowar Elves
4x Joraga Treespeaker
4x Wall of Roots
4x Overgrown Battlement

4x Natural Order
4x Summoning Trap

4x Obstinate Baloth
3x Terra Stomper
1x Gigapede
2x Phyrexian Revoker
2x Scavenging Ooze
2x Hornet Queen
1x Pelakka Wurm
1x Terastodon
1x Progenitus

4x Verdant Catacombs
15x Forest

SIDEBOARD

4x Krosan Grip
3x Thorn of Amethyst
3x Primal Command
2x Phyrexian Revoker
1x Spike Weaver
1x Tornado Elemental
1x Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre

The general consensus of the deck is it EATS. TEMPO. ALIVE. Canadian Thresh is pretty much an auto-win. Team America is pretty tasty too.

Has great matchups against Burn, Goblins, pretty much any aggressive deck that runs countermagic. No-one EVER expects maindeck Summoning Traps.

Bad matchups include most combo decks, Humility and anything that can actually consistently drop large amounts of bigger creatures. A far call, but Elves forestwalk...

The sideboard is something like 6 months old, I'm considering Brittle Effigies and/or Beast Within to deal with all the stupid things coming in from Show and Tell.

And here are my matchup notes (from matches where I've taken notes) over the past 3 years. Please bear in mind this deck has existed in one form or another since Zendikar got printed and has just evolved along with the meta. Some of these decks are possibly obsolete by now.

Junk Rock: 22-23 (I play a lot with this one guy...)
Goblins: 2-0
Team America: 2-0
Zoo: 3-0
New Horizons: 4-4
BUW Thopter Control: 1-0
NO Elves: 1-4
Doomsday: 0-2
Survival: 0-2
Enchantress: 0-2
Burn: 2-1
Goyf Sligh: 2-0
White Stax: 1-2
B/W Suicide Zombies: 2-1
Death & Taxes: 0-3
UW Control: 2-0
Sneak & Tell: 0-2
Belcher: 2-1 (yes, this deck can actually win against Belcher)
UW KorBlade: 2-0
MUD Stompy: 0-1-1
UW Counterbalance 2-0
Maverick 1-0

The deck will never be Tier 1, but always exist as Tier 2 hate deck.
And is HILARIOUS to play.

Memorable moments include:

'Oh counter my 2nd turn Overgrown Battlement? DOUBLE SUMMONING TRAP! Oh look, a Pelakka Wurm and a Simic Sky Swallower. Game?'
(switched SSS for Hornet Queens later on)

(post sideboard)
'combocombocombocombocombocombocombocombo... Brain Freeze you for infinite'
'Uh... I've got an Ulamog in here...'

EDIT:

By the way, I should add this deck is a little out of date, and some new considerations are needed. For one, I have been thinking of Molder Slug a lot, just to eat up all the stupid Swords and Batterskulls lying around.

How about Snow-covered Forests + Scrying Sheets?

That's sort of the point of having Oracle of Mul Daya, except the Oracle is better at that job. Then again, searching up Scrying Sheets might be more efficient than searching up the Oracle.

@Sanity_Cleaver: Cool to see a (sort of) similar idea. Playing a bunch of green fatties and turning them sideways is a very fun game plan.

EDIT: I've been testing this list for a little while now using some of Freggle's suggestions and am really liking the changes so far.

Mainboard:
4x Dungrove Elder
4x Sakura-Tribe Elder
4x Scute Mob
4x Sylvan Safekeeper
4x Veteran Explorer
3x Vinelasher Kudzu
2x Champion of Lambholt
1x Scavenging Ooze
1x Oracle of Mul Daya

4x Green Sun's Zenith
3x Beast Within
3x Umezawa's Jitte

13x Forest
4x Verdant Catacombs
4x Misty Rainforest
2x Dryad Arbor

Sideboard:
4x Ensnaring Bridge
4x Thorn of Amethyst
4x Storm Front
3x Relic of Progenitus

The Storm Fronts in the sideboard might be changed to Corrosive Gale if Sneak Show can be handled solely by Ensnaring Bridge.

Don't forget that you can fetch for Dryad Arbors with your fetch lands since they are "Forest Dryad"s. You would be AMAZED at the havoc that little play can cause.

Another card you should consider is Scryb Ranger You can't fully abuse Scryb Ranger because you don't run any tap effects on creatures, however you still can...

- Block with a Dryad Arbor against ANY legal ground guy and then return Dryad Arbor to your hand to "save" it for more annoying combat things. (it will not do damage or stop trample but it's still pretty powerful at keeping you alive. Tarmagoyfs?)

-Bouncing Dryad Arbors will grow both Champion of Lambholt and Vinelasher Kudzu

-Get you extra landfalls for Vinslasher when you don't have a land in hand. Just return one and drop it again. (or if you have Oracle out just return and play a second one)

-Gets you more "ramp" return a tapped forest, re-drop it for more mana.

-Block Insectile Aberrations all day (protection from blue)

-Kill Vendilion Cliques and live.

-Kill Jaces (slowly) but it's pro blue.

-Untaps a fattie on your opponents turn for a "surprise" (if they didn't see it) block. (this is even if you used Sryb's ability on your turn. Once per turn is your and your opponents)

-Flash it in to untap something to almost ensure they didn't see it coming.

These are all things to consider

Looking at your list now I might try to see if it lives up to the potential:

-1 Sylvan Safekeeper
+1 Scryb Ranger

It has been killer in a lot of mono green builds of mine.

Splash red for dragonmaster outcast?

Zupponn

@Freggle: That could be a perfect addition to the deck. The flexibility that the card adds seems really good.

@k2thej: I'm trying to stay away from any sort of splash myself, but you're more than welcome to try it. Since Scute Mob is so good in this deck, I would imagine that the Outcast would be too.

EDIT: Edited the OP to reflect the addition of the Scryb Ranger.

What about something like this?

23 forest
2 dryad arbor

4 dungrove elder
4 elvish pioneer
2 gaea's revenge
2 heartwood storyteller
2 kodama of the north tree
4 scute mob
2 thrun, the last troll
4 veteran explorer
2 yavimaya elder

3 beast within
2 collective voyage
4 green sun's zenith

eh? Needs some tweaking but I think making this deck a nightmare for control is a pretty good idea.

I like the idea of playing a bunch of fatties with shroud/hexproof. It stops a lot of spot removal while beating face. One thing I notice is that with the higher mana costs you have here, Sakura-Tribe Elder might be better than Elvish Pioneer because it gives you some mana ramp, while the pioneer only really generates tempo. Plus, the pioneer is a terrible topdeck lategame, while the elder can be a useful topdeck lategame. Yavimaya Elder also is a card that I've meant to look into for a while now, but never got around to trying out. Other than that, it looks like it might be another interesting direction to go in. After you test the deck out some, let us know how it plays. I'm interested in learning what you find out.

This list looks pretty awesome, but I would swap out the Kodama's for a Gigapede. Its an absolute nightmare for control decks.

Sideboard demands 4x Summoning Trap and 4x Obstinate Baloth.

Also really itching to test out Molder Slugs somewhere. So many decks run bullshit equipment as win-cons these days, and considering this list has no artifacts, it might warrant itself a place.

Seriously loving this list. Might try build something similar

I looked at gigapede, he seems sweet. The trample on kodama is pretty great though...

I think Molder slugs might not be relevant enough. I know there are a good amount of artifacts but meh. Test it and let us know!

Summoning trap seems great in the sb.

There's no question the list smokes control if played right, but idk how it will do against other combo and aggro lists.

Against aggro I think that you're creatures are just going to be bigger and untargetable and can block all day. Combo is a bit trickier though methinks.

Decent looking list. Although I'd expect a little bit more library manipulation. Oracle of MulDaya looks pretty cool. Why not take advantage of that a bit more and add Sensei's Divining top? Also, fetchlands to work with top, but I wouldn't run more than 8 because you also have Veteran Explorer, and other dudes that shuffle the deck for you.

I'm not really sold on the idea of having Top. I don't really like having Tops in Aggro decks very much because many times, I just want another beater rather than a Top.

The fetchlands also work with Vinelasher Kudzu, who has been surprisingly scary to my opponents and good to me. I have been pleased with their inclusion.

This list does not want top that is too much mana durdeling. If anything you want Sylvan Library. That card is really good, and you do run a lot of shuffles.

Take a Que from Zoo.

-1 something
+1 library

I personally might bump it to 2. You'll find your Jitte's faster. Then you have a digging howling mine on your hands.

Edit: This will also allow you to set-up your Oracle (with a land on top) AND draw two if you want.

Oh, and thanks for the OP props. I'm into it :)

I've been thinking about Sylvan Library for quite a while now, but haven't tested it yet. I really don't know what I'd take out at this point. Must think harder...

And you're welcome for the OP props. You've been as instrumental to this deck's development as I have. Without you I'd still be durdling around with Elvish Pioneers (which actually was a slight thrill by the way. To play against something so bad and then lose to it must be infuriating ).

I'd classify this deck more as beatdown than your traditional aggro. You have to ramp up, you don't put pressure on the opponent in the first 1-3 turns of the game.

Hi,
I really like testing out new decks that aren't developed yet, so I build my own kind of
mono green ramp aggro. I hope that you like the list. Also I would really appreciate comments on that list.

4 Scute Mob ("new Tharmo")
4 Veteran Explorer (some ramp)
4 Sakura Tribe Elder (more ramp)
3 Wall of Roots (against aggro + ramp)
4 Dungrove Elder (best beater in this deck)
4 Leatherback Baloth (not shure about that)
2 Hornet Queen (I like that finisher)
1 Primeval Titan (ramp master deluxe)
1 Gaea's Revenge (don't know if this is too "timmy" or good)
1 Eternal Witness (I think one is ok)
1 Acidic Slime (filler 1)
1 Wickerbough Elder (filler 2)

3 Beast Within (best green removal)
3 Dismember (solid removal spell)
1 Revenge of the Hunted (I hope that this is mighty)

23 Forest (a lot of this stuff)

Add 4 Green Sun's Zeniths. That card turns all of those 1-ofs into 5-ofs without adding 15 more cards. Other than that, there is definitely potential in the list. It's sort of funny with your signiture.

I've added some Green's Sun Zeniths and it works very consistent and due to the 1offs it is surprisingly very flexible.
I tested it against a semi-legacy Zoo and it performed pretty good. It can stall the whole day with Wall of Roots and other stuff.

My impressions:
1)Dungrove Elder is simply too mighty in this deck. (Should be banned.)
2)Hornet Queen, resolved = instant win
3)Wall of Roots is pretty solid.
4)Zenith is a must.
5)Gaea's Revenge was not that good as I have hoped.
6)Revenge of the Hunted played with its miracle costs is just too evil especially targeting a Acidic Slime.

Has anyone seen this version of Mono-Green 12Post?

http://www.thecouncil.es/tcdecks/deck.php?id=8554&iddeck=62407

plays essentially as 12Post meets Secret Force. A week or two prior this same player played the same deck to another Top8, but with the Pelaka Wurm and Terastodon in the main and an overall slightly less-streamlined creature base.

To hope that the opponent has a bad day.
No srsly, that is a maybe the biggest problem here.

Why not board four Trinisphere. That should help against combo and other threats.

Zupponn
07-09-2012, 01:43 AM
Trinisphere, Thorn of Amethyst, Ensnaring Bridge, and Gaddock Teeg could all be useful combo hate. The only problem is that combo should be used to playing around those cards and/or have answers.

I've updated my list after testing against Goblins, Burn, Elves and White Weenie. I admit that these are not current Legacy DTB but nevertheless it was worth testing against these decks.

My MB is:

4 Dungrove Elder
4 Sakura-Tribe Elder
4 Scute Mob
4 Veteran Explorer
3 Wall of Roots
2 Hornet Queen
1 Primeval Titan
1 Wickerbough Elder
1 Acidic Slime
1 Kitchen Finks
1 Eternal Witness
3 Beast Within
2 Dismember
4 Green Suns's Zenith
1 Revenge of the Hunted
1 Umezawa's Jitte
22 Forest
1 Dryad Arbor

To give this topic one more chance, I ll post my new, not heavily updated list:
4 Dungrove Elder
4 Sakura-Tribe Elder
4 Scute Mob
4 Veteran Explorer
3 Wall of Roots
1 Thratusk
1 Hornet Queen
1 Primeval Titan
1 Wickerbough Elder
1 Acidic Slime
1 Kitchen Finks
1 Eternal Witness
3 Beast Within
2 Dismember
4 Green Suns's Zenith
1 Revenge of the Hunted
1 Umezawa's Jitte
22 Forest
1 Dryad Arbor

The deck is really fun to play. It is certainly not very strong against a wider meta but there are some MUs where you can just smash the opponent with a Dungrove Elder easily.
Unfortunately this deck is pretty much death to combo. :(
SB: Chalice, Thorn, Sphere may work.

I know it's not exactly ramp per se but this is my current deck.

2 Dramatic Entrance
1 Sensei's Diving Top
4 Natural Order
4 Noble Hierarch
4 Llanowar Elves
2 Umezawa's Jitte
1 Birds of Paradise
1 Sword of Fire and Ice
1 Sword of Body and Mind
4 Progenitus
4 Tarmogoyf
3 Terastodon
1 Dryad Arbor
4 Ancient Tomb
1 City of Traitors
12 Forest
2 Worldspine Wurm
3 Sylvan Library
4 Summoning Trap
2 Boseiju, Who Shelters All
SB: 4 Mindbreak Trap
SB: 4 Surgical Extraction
SB: 4 Leyline of Sanctity
SB: 3 Krosan Grip

It has the bomby early game theats as well as the don't underestimate the lil' guy factor. Also the s/b is dedicated to storm, which we all know is mono greens biggest weakness.
