Converted Mana Costs and Altering of costs

If I have a Sphere of Resistance on the field and I cast Brainstorm, would Brainstorm's converted mana cost be 1 or 2?

The converted manacost is independent of what you pay for a spell. It's always what's written on the top right of a card. Anywhere but on the stack, (X) is treated as zero.

So when you pay 1U for a Brainstorm, it's converted manacost (cmc) will still be 1.
