I play legacy at a local shop every week. For the past few months, we've been testing for major tournaments, since SCG had about 5 events within a 2 month period near us. However, after GP Atlanta and SCG DC in August, we won't have another event in driving distance for months. This means it's time to play gimmicky bad decks and have fun, since there's really no reason to play the Tier 1 decks.
I'd really like to Cascade into Emrakul. I've got the very beginnings of a deck, but I wanted to pick the minds of people who like building silly decks to see what people thought was important before coming up with an exact 75. I know I want to play 4 Maelstrom Nexus, 4 Show and Tell, and some number of Emrakul, Draco, and probably Congregation at dawn. The two card combo then is Maelstrom Nexus + Congregation at Dawn. You could show and tell the Emrakul or the Nexus. In other words, it's just a really bad 5 color version of Sneak and Show or Dream Halls.
Has anyone ever tried to build a 5 color manabase in legacy? How would you go about doing it? Are there fixing cards you'd recommend running, considering that I actually probably want Domain to cast Draco?
This does not need to be a budget list, I have all the duals and fetches I will need to achieve this, I own show and tells and emrakuls, as well as forces and whatever other blue cards are necessary to make the shell work. I'm hoping to play in a 4 round event and actually cascade into emrakul at least once. I don't need to win a lot of matches, but I do need to be capable of accomplishing my combo.
Anyone have good ideas to get started?
