I seriously doubt that Wizard could print hate bears that are powerful enough to efficiently hate out cantrip-based strategies.

I would love to a dude-based Chains or Pyrostatic Pillar variants, though.

Hate bears are straight lazy design, utterly lame from an interaction standpoint, narrow in execution, and thoroughly boring to play against. On top of the previously listed gripes the majority of hate bears do not even function on a high enough level to actually cause a significant impact on any game state. I would argue the only thing needed to keep the cycle of life in check is to make sure dedicated control is consistently a viable option in any given metagame - we do not need more hate bears.

Thalia isn’t a hate bear; she is a resistor effect of which has been around forever and has proven itself to work against a variety of strategies. The body is what makes it viable in Legacy over something like Sphere of Resistance which is not played.

I'm not sure why you guys want more powerful hatebears in addition to what we have now. Control and combo decks already have to pay more mana for their spells, Thalia, can't play their bombs, Teeg, can't utilize their graveyards, Grunt/Ooze/Wretch among all of the other bears thy can be seen in the format.

Pushing hate bears to 1cc would push combo/control/tempo decks out of the format due to the massive slowing that the format would undertake. It would be like mental misstep all over again, decks with tons of creatures(maverick/zoo) would play the new bear and other decks would play tons of removal/sweepers to kill the creature decks that pop up. Combo would be gone due to its inability to beat aggro or control on a regular basis.
