Okay, so I played a game against someone who beligerently believed this card behaves different to what I thought - so I'm hoping the brains trust here @ the sauce can help?

The spell has to be able to legally **target** Spellskite.
Any card that can actually target Spellskite can be redirected, like Lightning Bolt, Dismember, Berserk, Blazing Shoal etc.

I also believe that cards that say "creature you control" like Ranger's Guile cannot be stolen with Spellskite either.

Our arguement was about activating spellskites' ability multiple times in the same turn, which I thought was perfectly legal????

Now my thought was that Spellskite works this way, and can essentially redirect anything that could potentially target it - this is ALWAYS correct right?

And are there any cards that could prevent you using it's ability here in Legacy?

Spellskite's ability can target any spell or ability on the stack. However, that does not mean it will do anything.

So, you can obviously use spellskite to change the target of a Lightning Bolt. That should be fairly clear.

If you activate spellskite's ability targeting a Force of Will, it is a legal target for spellskite's ability (which can target any spell or ability). However, since Spellskite is not a legal target for Force of Will, the change of target will not occur.

The same goes for any spell that could not legally target Spellskite for any reason, due to targeting restrictions, or something that, for example, targets only lands.

And no, there is no limit to the number of times you can activate it per turn.
