Fast RG aggro has always been my favorite deck type to play (since 1996!). Why play this over RGW zoo? Well I can't think of one good reason other than I simply like the RG mix. My goal is to make this deck a solid tier 2 option. Is it possible?
4 Vexing Devil
4 Goblin Guide
4 Grim Lavamancer
4 Hellspark Elemental
4 Tarmogoyf
3 Rancor
4 Lightining Bolt
4 Chain Lightning
3 Magma Jet
4 Price of Progress
3 Fireblast
4 Wooded Foothills
4 Bloodstained Mire
4 Taiga
6 Mountain
1 Forest
SB
4 Pyroblast
2 Ancient Grudge
2 Smash to Smithereens
3 Sulfuric Vortex
3 Ensnaring Bridge
1 Searing Blaze
So basically the goal is to beatface with monsters and finish fast with burn before the opponent can stabilize. Kiln Fiend is either the tits or garbage. I was running it along with manamorphose but they were cut to add PoP.
I don't really think there is anyway to make the combo matchup winnable post board so I have chosen to just ignore it.
I am waffling on the ancient grudge vs smash to smithereens. Somedays I slip the s2s in the board other days I stick with ancient grudge.
Also, Reckless Charge is a tempting option but its either that or the Rancor/vines of vastwood and right now I am reluctant to part with my rancors... plus many of my creatures already have haste.

Why not simply play Burn? It does everything you want.

Basically for better sideboard answers to hosers... especially enchantments (cop, warmth, counterbalance etc). Also Goyf.

I would consider playing Flinthoof Boar over Kiln fiend because he's going to be a 3/3 for 2, and the mana you would spend on making Kiln fiend with swinging with you use once to make Flinthoof Boar hasty. then you have a 3/3 beater constantly on board.
Then again, if you're going for a 3/3 beater and using it as a green creature slot, nimble mongoose would probably work better until a Lavamancer went online. The only draw back being you cannot slap a rancor on him.

Flinthoof boar, while a solid 3/3 beater, is unfortunately at the 2cc slot which is already pretty jammed. If he were to be added I'd have to drop the hellspark.
Kiln fiend has been reluctantly cut for Kird Ape. As much as I wanted them to work, they are just to inconsistent and such a terrible topdeck. Ape is vanilla but reliable. Turn 1 pressure (and the possibility of rancoring up a threat and attacking on turn 2) is needed in all matches. Until a better option arrives, I think I'm still stuck with the monkey.

There used to be a deck called R/g Goyf Sligh, but it evolved into R/g/w Naya Sligh. Although, it's still worse than R/u/w Delver Sligh.
I believe you can still find the R/g Goyf Sligh and R/g/w Naya Sligh threads in the Established Forum. My R/u/w Blue Sligh list is on page 2 of this (New and Developmental) Forum.

That R/g Goyf Sligh deck was awesome. I used to play it quite a lot. Basically it was the burn deck but with Tarmogoyf and sideboard Ancient Grudge and Krosan Grip. Sometimes Kird Ape.
My contructive feedback is that I'm not sure about Vexing Devil and Kiln Fiend. I'd rather play something like Figure of Destiny and more Grim Lavamancers.
Rancor seems situaltionally bad. Your creatures will eat removal anyway, you don't need to make them bigger for that. Then again, trample seems awesome on Tarmogoyf.

My Goyf Sligh list of late looks like this:
4 Goblin Guide
4 Vexing Devil
3 Grim Lavamancer
4 Figure of Destiny
4 Tarmogoyf /19
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Chain Lightning
4 Forked Bolt
3 Rift Bolt
4 Fireblast
1 Thunderous Wrath
2 Sylvan Library /22
6 Mountain
4 Taiga
3 Bloodstained Mire
3 Arid Mesa
3 Scalding Tarn /19
Side:
4 Red Elemental Blast
3 Tormod's Crypt
3 Pithing Needle
3 Krosan Grip
2 Umezawa's Jitte /15
Goes like the clappers, but can lose to any deck in the current meta, unfortunately.
Still trying to squeeze three Vortexes into the sideboard. That might help beating fair stuff.

I guess Vexing Devil is good goyf food? He seems best suited to the red decks that play straight burn, with only Grim Lavamancer as their creature.

Would be interesting to revisit one of the RG lists of the 90's, back when people played Incinerate, Giant Growth and Erhnam Djinn!

I understand your point. This deck often plays out much like burn though and someone taking 4 dmg for R is pretty solid for us.
Added a few updates to the main list. Cut Kird apes for more Lavamancers and I've been tinkering with the sideboard a bit.
