Is it just me or did the Lands player just win because the RUG man threw it away?
I mean he could have eaten all the Waste/Quarters in response to the effects before he could have played them out of the yard.
Edit:
Board was Trop, Trop, Trop, Fetch, Grove of the Burnwillows, Volcanic, Ooze, Goyf, Mungo vs Chalice 1 and 2, Crucible, 3 Maze Ensnaring, and 2 Waste + Ghost Quarter alongside Rishadan Port, which was used eot to tap one Tropical.
He misplayed in all 3 games and lost.

Lands might have some kind of rogue factor, especially for people not too familiar with the format but that plan was so obvious...

I done see a lot of Minneapolitans (residents of the greatest city on Earth) in that got dang top sixteen, that I do.
Argh, Kobie "Bryant" Spaeth is keeping the wrong cards with Jace. Play out that second Top, Kobie, don't shuffle it away.
For the record, that is not me. Just sayin.

Look at all that Stoneblade in the top eight. I guess it's time to ban the key cards in that deck! (just kidding).

Heh, Kobie crushed me on my win-and-in round. Chilling with Alex was cool.
But he defoiled his 43 Land deck!

Does anyone know of anyway to watch the t8 of the Open today? I was working today and missed the whole thing.
Is there a site that archives these tournaments?

Here: http://www.twitch.tv/scglive/b/328401753 You have to skip to like 5 hours or something to start with the quarterfinals.

Yeah, I think he sold most of the expensive foils to one of the other two Lands players (not counting Schousboe) in the area so that he could buy a car or something.
GJ Kobie and Alex (I think this is the second time he's gotten second at an Open with Lands). Also, good job to Dark Ritual, who top sixteened.

They also put up the matches in individual videos on Blip after the tournament, though it takes them a few days to do it.

I ported an additional green source in my precombat main and moved through combat before destroying his lands; this left him one green source short of eating all of my wastelands/ghost quarter.

Alex told me he bought a car. Apparently budget 43 Lands is a viable deck.

RUG is pretty powerful. You can pretty much get high on Quaaludes, then take a mallet to the temple, then drink a bottle of corn liquor and still have a shot at top 8.

I was tired and bad after 19 rounds of magic on 3ish hours of sleep so my plays were far below average. Besides, who needs playskill when you can just be luckier than everyone else?
