This is a kind of silly question, but I am a little fucked up so I'll ask it.
I've been playing two decks for about five years now: dredge and goblins. Recently, I've been thinking about trading away those two decks to put together TES. I know legacy has a bit of a reputation as a pet-deck format, and I was wondering if you all had any thoughts about that transition/changing decks in general.

Assembling TES from Dredge requires 4-5 blue fetchlands, 2 Underground Seas and a Volcanic. Chrome Moxen, Wishes, and the rest is the deck is janky commons and uncommons, with easy to find rares. Personally, if I were you, I would assemble Force of Wills and blue duals before Storm.

Don't trade away dredge and goblins, just buy up those few fetches (might not be even necessary if you have Bloodstained mires), 3-4 duals and 4 LEDs (if you don't have them already). Rest of the deck is pretty cheap jank so..

Coming from a similar place, my decks used to be Dredge and ANT. Then I borrowed Goblins and found the deck for me. I traded/bought the cards for Goblins without disrupting the other decks. Only to find I didn't play them.

This lead to some reflection time and I decided to trade away Dredge. If I am feeling combo, I would rather play Storm.

I did not want to trade both away. Variety can be nice. After running hot with Goblins, the last two events have been very mediocre. (Edit: All my fault on the poor showing, Goblins is very strong right now. Just can't find time to test. Don't take this as sign that you should drop the green dudes.) This has put me in a combo mood and I am getting my counting to 10 chops back.

My advice would be to pick Dredge or Goblins and keep one.

As others have pointed out, if you were playing LED Dredge, there is a decent overlap of 'expensive cards' with TES. It may make sense to keep Dredge together.

On the other hand, Bridges are at an all time high. They have probably plateaued until another resurgence of the zombie hordes. Bridges will probably trade for more than you picked them up for. And, I wouldn't want to trade away Wastelands. If you ever change decks again you'll be glad to have them.

I think TES is a smart next deck. Blue duals are always nice to have. There is a good amount of variety within the various storm decks. Not to hard to go from TES to ANT or Doomsday versions from the card pool standpoint. Storm alone can be a way to maintain deck variety.

I've been playing Blade control, miracles, and Thresh.

I've been craving to play goblins. I don't intend to dismantle any old decks to get there but goblins looks like a really fun and powerful deck.

After stuff like flash and show and tell showed up out of nowhere, I vowed to never trade away my playsets. The swords from ravnica jumped up after stoneforge came out, goblins got a lot stronger after they printed instigator, etc.

Besides, it will probably be an uphill battle trying to trade dredge and goblins for a blue storm deck. I can't imagine that you would save that much value compared to just buying the deck with cash.

Like the other posters said, you are on the way to getting TES if you are already playing certain cards in Gobbos/Dredge (Bloodstained Mire, LED, Gemstone mine, etc) The big ticket items are the duals, and the rest is bargain bin priced.

I'd say save up and consolidate your collection and just obtain the new cards instead of scrapping your decks. In Legacy, I'm always more nervous against a player who's been playing their deck for years than the latest tech to hit the 'net. Goblins is strong every now and then, same as Dredge. Keep those in tact so you have a safety zone to go back to, and go out and get yourself a new deck. It's fun.
