View Full Version : Gauging interest in online The Source Vintage tournament
I think it would be interesting to run one, over Cockatrice/MWS. Right now for bragging rights, but maybe some donated prizes to drum up support.
I'm thinking sometime in mid-October with 1 week "rounds".
Count me in. Go easy on the Vintage noobs.

*raises hand*
I'm interested, on cockatrice.
Look out for a thread early next week. I'll put together the details then.

I have access to the cocks a trice.
I might be interested depending on my schedule, though I've been having some issues with Cockatrice on my laptop (just with the deckbuilder though, so I can probably hack it by building the .cod file directly without the deckbuilder GUI).

Interested, I would opt for cockatrice though as it crashes less then MWS.

So, is this getting started?
Yikes it's already mid-week. Pretty busy week for me, so I might have to delay rolling out the details until the weekend.
here's the short and skinny version -
What: Vintage tournament for bragging rights
Where: computers around the internetz, played on Cockatrice
When:
Registration opens as soon as I post the thread until Oct 1st.
Decklist will be provided as "checksum" codes generated by Cockatrice. The deck registered will be used throughout the entire tournament.
Tournament will kick off a few days later as soon as I have everyone logged into the event.
Rounds will last 7 days.
Each pair of players will coordinate to find a suitable time to play.
Matches will be played using current Vintage rules (including any B&R changes that occur as of Oct 1st).
I'll add some more details in the full thread.

TMD had this. I'd be interested to join in. Hopefully I can find someone who can accommodate my timezone.
...Is that you, saucer crab?.
This still going to happen?

I can't find the tournament details thread - did I miss it or is it not up yet?
I'm totally interested in playing in this.
Dudes I'm totally swamped >.<
Turns out 40+hr/wk + grad school actually takes up all of your time.
If we are going to do it we need to get some publicity on it. I'm sure I'm not going to be the only netdecking total Vintage noob and there won't be only 2-3 seasoned Vintage gurus. We need some coverage, who's in who's not, what was the meta, who beat who, coming up matches etc. Even if I drop x-0, I at least want to do some thrash talk and get some excitement in the mtgthesource.com tournament.

Koby,
If there's anything I can help with let me know.
I know that I can harass some of the local vintage players (mainly my idiot friends) for additional players. Plus some vintage newbies as well

If you want some help getting things organized, I'm down. Just shoot me an email or PM.
Count me in for the help, I'll have plenty of time to kill for a month or two probably. Don't mind my occasional trollish posts as I like my liquor on Friday evenings and can be less than serious due to that. The Vintage tournament is serious business.
Tournament thread is up.
