Hello. I want to ask this question for some time.

There is quite old format called Highlander which was here long before EDH. You have 20 life, 100 cards in deck and "there can be only one" card - which earned the name to the format. As you maybe know this format also differs from EDH in one aspect - deck contain no general/commander and therefore there are no "color identity" restrictions.

WotC calls this format Singleton 100:

In Europe its known as "German" Highlander:

The banlists differ a bit. Also the german variant has altered mulligan rule.

So are you playing it, or are interested in the format, but there is hard to find co-players?

If I wanted to play another format like this I would play 7-point highlander, which is a format popular in New Zealand and Australia.
Decks are 60 cards, and all vintage legal cards are legal. More powerful cards have a point value which is listed on the official page (Black Lotus might be 4 points, for example) and your deck is only allowed to have a maximum of 7 points in it.

I would not want to play a 100 card highlander game with no commander because I would not enjoy the absurd amount of variation in each game and the idea of building around a powerful legendary creature is more appealing.

I completely forgot the "Australian" Highlander. I like the method which they used to restrict power level of the decks.

You are right that powerful legendary creatures makes deckbuilding and play more interesting, since most players have their favourite legendary creature...

What I personally find interesting in standard 100 card Highlander is the unlimited cardpool and unlimited situations which my appear during play. Also 20 life points is not as safe as 40 in EDH. All these factors made Highlander deckbuilding more challenging.

I am interested...but there isn't anything remotely resembling a player base here. I tend to build "highlander" decks anyway for flavor reasons, so the only real change would be the specific ban list.

I prefer running singleton decks for casual play, even if the rest of the players aren't on an EDH kick.

Nowadays, I just make sure to have some legendary creature of the proper colors in there so the decks count for EDH, too.

Variety is nice.
