Esper Fish

Hi guys.

So this deck has elements of classic Esper Blade, Team America and Deadguy Ale, but is enough of a mix, that I think it is better to discuss it separately.

A list:

4 Dark Confidant
4 Delver of Secrets
3 Stoneforge Mystic
3 Snapcaster Mage

4 Inquisition of Kozilek
4 Hymn to Tourach
3 Daze
3 Force of Will
4 Brainstorm
2 Ponder
4 Swords to Plowshares
1 Umezawa's Jitte
1 Batterskull

20 land, 4 Wasteland, 4 Underground Sea, 1 Tundra, 2 Scrubland, 4 Polluted Delta, 4 Flooded Strand, 1 Marsh Flats.

SB:
1 Dread of Night
2 Diabolic Edict
3 Submerge
2 Thoughtseize
3 Pithing Needle
4 Surgical Extraction

The idea behind making this list, is to be able to apply more pressure than Esper Blade, connecting it with Hymn, Daze and Wasteland out of the Team America shell, thereby improving match-ups such as Show and Tell. Furthermore, I really feel that Dark Confidant is underplayed, but finding a good shell for it is not easy. The heavy discard of Inq and Hymn seems like a good backup. Stoneforge is not really a favorite of mine, but I hope that in a list like this, where there is protection, and the added number of important creatures that attract removal, it might be good. The life gain of Jitte and Bat is also essential.
This sideboard is focused on Show and Tell, Maverick and Miracle control (Pithing Needles). Maybe Disenchant or Vindicate should be fitted in the board though.

I think that vial can be a very good addition to that list

As good as Submerge is, when you have access to both white AND black removals options AND are playing Dark Confidant, I think you'd be better off with a different choice. Perhaps Ghastly Demise, Darkblast, and/or Path to Exile would be decent options?

With that much discard already present in the maindeck, I would consider cutting the Thoughtseizes in the SB for either Spell Pierce or Flusterstorm. That way you can be both proactive and reactive with your control elements.
