Hello my friends,
I open this post to report because from yesterday night to this morning "MTG FANATIC" has canceled a order I made 20 days ago without any reason.
After some mails to ask why he did that, he answered me that because of the change of the price of the card he will not send because cards got up in price.
I will open a case on Pay Pal but I think it will bring me nothing.
I didn’t thought that big sellers did this case of rude tricks to customers.
¿Can someone help me out with this problem and to get my cards from the price I bought them?
Thanks

Unfortunately, in cases like this, there is generally no recourse for the customer other than to get a refund from the store and to give them bad feedback / press.

I have heard cases like this before. People buy in bulk a rare, then when it shoots up they never send. I will be sure to be on the lookout for this dealer for sure.

I've read multiple similar cases related to them and gone through one myself. Last spring I ordered 3 NM Tundras and I even got a tracking number saying that the post office was notified of a package to be sent. After waiting about 5 weeks they said that they were out of stock on the particular items and canceled my order. I'm not buying anything from them since then.

They did the same thing to me. I wrote about it on mtgsalvation (which I think is in my signature).

This has happened to me as well. I can't remember the seller, but i doo remember that nothing could be done (and I went through ALL the motions, to try and get my cards at the price I bought them)

I ordered a playset of Aluren from them December 10th. The next day the I got an email with tracking that it was shipped. After a week with no movement on the tracking I sent them an email and got no reply. Today they refunded my money with no reason why. Fake Tracking, No response to email, Refund with no explanation. 3 very good reasons to not use this company for anything MTG related.

All the while I am still waiting to get paid on a sell order they got delivered to them back on November 6th. These guys are horrid with zero customer service.

I used to post everyday on Fanatic in the boards. I can assure you people that the guy who runs the company Chris is a gentleman and a scholar. I had my collection stolen a long time ago and had put a post up about it on their forums. Chris read the post and sent me a free BOX of morningtide. He really is a great guy and i'm sure if you message directly him he will take care of your problems.

P.s. I don't post on there anymore because for some reason the site just wont work on my browser. I messaged Chris and he tried to help me troubleshoot but it still won't work. I miss that site.

I had a similar issue with Mirage Gaming when Craterhoof went up in price.

I don't know whether he is a gentlemen or not and honestly don't care. He is running his business in a very unprofessional way and this is what matters. There is more than enough proof and cases showing that they are indeed using fake tracking numbers and cancelling orders for no good reason etc. etc.

My experience with Mtgfanatic about 8 months ago:
http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?23386-USPS-International-Priority-amp-Lost-Packages&highlight=

And my case wasn't even about some card which I tried to get a good deal on before the prices caught up. I just bought Revised Tundras and the order got cancelled 3 weeks after I was given a tracking number.

I would never buy from them and honestly don't really care how much of a nice guy this Chris is among friends.

Did they provide fake tracking? Wait 11 days to refund your money with no reason as to why?

I would pay twice to price to deal with a company when I order my cards I actually will get them. I hope others Avoid them as well. The only way to handle companies like this is to not buy from them.

Everybody here (and elsewhere) who has had a problem should file a complaint on Better Business Bureau on their profile linked here:
http://www.bbb.org/boston/business-reviews/internet-services/mtgfanatic-com-inc-in-minot-me-14317/

If they have enough complaints it will eventually affect their reputation and pocketbook.

Thanks for the link JACO. I will be doing this for sure.

Keep in mind the BBB is for-profit and MTG Fanatic can pretty much pay for a membership to make negative reviews go away, but it's worth a try.

I pretty much had the same bad esperience.

I ordered cards and sent the following message after 3 days:

Hello,

I have made the payment for my order 3 days ago and its status is still
"Pending".
As I read in the FAQS that you "are usually able to get all orders placed by
3:00 PM EST out within the same day", I'm starting to get a little worried.

Thank you for your answer

Best Regards,

I received this message in response from Chris Tremblay:

The order will be shipping tomorrow. Yesterday was a holiday so mail could
not be shipped, and our employess had the day off which postponed shipment
by 1 day.

Two weeks later, after a price increase, I received this message:

Hello,

This is Chris Tremblay from MtgFanatic.com. I am writing to you regarding your order for card XXX. This item was not listed at the correct price, so I am unable to ship these items at this time. I have given you store credit for these items. I apologize for the inconvenience.

To everybody:
DON'T BUY FROM MTG FANATIC !!!

Also terrible is how they give you store credit instead of a refund. Wtf!

If you paid with a credit card you could file a chargeback against them. If you paid via paypal you could open a dispute. Neither process favors the merchant.

Yeah, unfortunately after they moved their office to Houston (I have actually been there a few times), quality really seemed to have gone down. The staff they had hired were really just had this horrible combination of incompetence + being generally terrible. Sad, really - I had actually had some very good experiences with them when they were based out of Florida.

You should also report the pre-sale scamming to tcgplayer ... they do pre-selling through their marketplace / widget ...

MTG Fanatic is notorious with this sort of stuff. I seem to recall something about someone ordering Loyal Retainers back when they were still cheap, but just before the price skyrocketed and they had their order canceled.

I also noticed Imperial Seal listed for 299.99 in NM right as it was on the rise. Being sure to see if it wasn't asian I emailed them to make sure before I put in my order. Sure enough it was then listed out of stock when the reply came back that it was English and relisted for substantially more (I forget how much). In the end I probably wouldn't have received it even if I placed the order immediately, but it still left me disappointed. And this is coming from someone who ordered 50 Mental Missteps before release at 50 cents per and didn't have his order canceled from a much more reputable dealer.

It's not that I am looking to only get amazing deals on stuff, but they definitely didn't buy the Seal for 300, so it's not like they lose money on it. And in the case of the Missteps the store was opening so many boxes and they kept raising their price as they sold out as a means of price discovery so they could order more product and create market efficiency. I thought 50 cents was a very good price to pay at the time, it's not like any other retailers had prices up yet, and then eventually they rose to 4 bucks a piece due to supply/demand.

Here is a link to the forums on their site I started about my canceled order. I find it amazing how many people defend them and their practices.
