Sword of the Meek

Had too call the judge this week, and since he seemed a bit unsure on his ruling so I wanted to followup.

IF a 1/1 comes into play and triggers Sword of the meek(which is currently in the GY), and then before the trigger resolves, meets its demise, will the sword still re-enter the battlefield?

Yes. Once the ability triggers, the only thing that can stop it from resolving is countering it or otherwise removing it from the stack. It could be countered directly using something like stifle or it could be countered by the game rules due to having an illegal target. Since this ability has no target, the latter case can never happen.

Once the ability starts resolving, you must do everything that it says. If you can't, you still do as much as possible. If the creature is gone, you can still return the sword to the battlefield, but you can't attach it to the creature. The result is that the sword will just be put onto the battlefield.
