Stuck in my head

I cannot seem to get the idea out of my head of playing Death's Shadow, Form of the Dragon, and Infernal Contract together in one deck. It would be for some casual multiplayer action. And I guess I am looking for thoughts on some ways to put it all together.

I would think something like:

4 Sulfurous Springs
2 Mountain
2 Swamp

4 Death's Shadow

4 Form of the Dragon
4 Infernal Contract
4 Spoils of the Vault

4 Dark Ritual
4 Seething Song

4 Lightning Bolt
4 Snuff Out
4 Terminate


Removal to buy time and clear a path, the draw and spoils help you find form of the dragons and Shadows (and lower your life in the process) and fast mana, and of course rituals so you can cast form and contract early.

I'd roll with Academy Rector + Cabal Therapy.

Can sac rector to find form of the dragon which has been a proven way to win games in Legacy tournaments in the past. Deaths Shadow could fit in if you are willing to run fetch lands + Shocklands and Thoughtseize and Gixtaxian Probe.

I'd look into the Nic Fit thread on these forums if you want to go that route. Could probably make a deck that goes way beyond casual.

4 Blightning ---this seems like the flex slot, could be dreadbore? lightning bolt? A planeswalker? ensnaring bridge? What else could protect me against spell (d don't think dash hope is where I want to be?

Lim-Dûl's Vault & Plunge into Darkness are both good enablers for this deck.

They are good because they are instant speed life adjusters. So you can attack and your opponent can choose whether to block or not and you can adjust your life after declare blockers accordingly.

They are also good at finding combo pieces so I would try a build with Dark Depths & Vampire Hexmage in it as well.

So it could be a :u::b: combo deck with the flash-hulk build of Duress, Force of Will, Misdirection... and your combo pieces and enablers ("tutors.") With all of that the deck might be legit.

I'd roll with Academy Rector + Cabal Therapy.

I like this idea actually, rector and a sac outlet like therapy, or even a Pox (which also lowers your life for shadow), gives you form as early as turn 4 (potentially even earlier with some rituals and/or mox diamonds), and the white splash opens the possibility of Vindicates and Swords to Plow Shares. It could also let you cut red entirely so you could move into an esper list for blue disruption and protection, + vault like Freggle mentioned.

So maybe something like:

You can't actually cast form of the dragon normally, unless you get 3 diamonds, so I cut down to 2 of them (in case one gets pridemaged or the like) 16 blue cards is the minimum I like running with force of will, really, 4 brainstorm should explain itself, Vault is to find rectors, disruption, shadows, whatever you need. Pierce, therapy and Force are disruption and a bit of protection, Swords is just the best removal spell you could want and takes advantage of the white splash. Shadow is your finisher alongside Form of the Dragon.

Infernal contract just doesn't seem needed if you have brainstorm, rectors, and vaults, but I could see cutting 2 shadows for 2 contracts if you insist on using them.

No I see it more as a Nic Fit shell. GBw with veteran explorer, Pernicious Deed, Cabal Therapy, Academy Rector, Swords to Plowshares, Recurring Nightmare, Sensei's Divining Top ect. Don't think blue belongs.
